Kiusam, April 6 (MExN): A land cutting ceremony for the construction of St. John School was held at Kiusam on April 6, marking the beginning of the project in the Tikhir area.
North East Contractor Teisovilie Rupreo officiated the programme. In his address, he said, “May God’s blessing be upon this ground today and years to come, as the ground itself bears witness to the faith, sacrifice, and determination of an entire community.” He added, “Let on this ground be a stepping forward into a future defined by education, excellence, and the love of God.”
Rev Fr Philip Magh, Parish Priest and Principal of Loyola Hr Sec School, Kiphire, termed the occasion a “red-letter day” for St. John School. He conveyed appreciation from the Bishop and the Diocese of Kohima to North East Construction for its contribution in leveling the ground. “Your contribution is our vision, resources, prayers, and labor toward making this institution a reality,” he said, while acknowledging the roles of Thepfusatuo Rio and Teisovilie Rupreo.

L Y Tokim, President of TGBA, speaking on behalf of public leaders, said, “You may be a millionaire, wealthy in assets, rich in knowledge and wisdom, but a help rendered to mankind is the greatest gift.”
He acknowledged the service of the Catholic Church and the contributions of Rev Fr Thomas Toretkiu and Rev Fr Philip Magh, adding that the initiative would be remembered in the Tikhir area.
The programme included a prayer of blessing by Rev Fr Kokto Kurien, Director, NCYM Kohima. Earlier, Rev Fr Thomas Toretkiu delivered the welcome address. The programme was compered by Catherine.
