Deputy Commissioner of Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikhant, IAS inaugurated the coffee bar of the Department of Land Resources, Tuensang on June 24.
Speaking at the launching programme which was attended by civil societies and officers, the DC Tuensang congratulated the department for coming up with the innovative idea which will not only boost coffee farmers but also coffee lovers in the district. DC Tuensang said, “When we consume what we produce, there is absolute satisfaction and attachment and the coffee bar which is the product of the district is a perfect example.”
Sharing his observation the DC said, “When people and tribal leaders come together, there is always success” and encouraged the department to “keep up the good work.” Meanwhile, the DC also request the department to open a coffee stall at his official complex as there are lot of visitors and it would be a good spot for promote the activities of the department.
Chang Khulei Setshang (CKS), President, Nungsanglemba congratulated the department for ‘setting up such a beautiful bar in places like Tuensang where people have not enjoyed the taste of coffee and hoped that this bar in itself is a moral boost for coffee lovers and farmers.’ “The bar will surely create coffee drinking culture in the district,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Puthuto Natso, DPO, LRD Tuensang gave an overview of coffee farming and production activities in the district, where he informed that approx 500 Ha of coffee is being developed in the district by the department. Natso added that under the leadership of the director, the department is establishing coffee bar in all office premises across the state.
The department gave roasted coffee, which is a product of Hills Cafe Coffee Bar to all the persons attending the programme.
