Zunheboto, September 14 (MExN): A Legal Sensitization Programme for Police Officers and Law Enforcement Personnel was organised by Zunheboto District Legal Services Authority organised at the SP conference hall, Zunheboto on September 10.
Resource person, Atoka Achumi, Civil Judge and Secretary, Zunheboto DLSA spoke on the salient features of Criminal Procedure Code, Indian Penal Code, Evidence Act and the Information Technology Act, a release stated. He presented a special case study on the latest aspects of criminal case law in the country including references with the landmark judgments of the Supreme Court cases. Achumi also sensitized the police personnel on the special legal provisions relating to juvenile, women and children.
The participants were apprised on the trend of court procedures and insight on the absolute necessity of evidence in courts of law.
The programme included discussion hour moderated by Kivinto Swu, Assistant Public Prosecutor, Zunheboto. Earlier, the programme was chaired by Tovi Z Yeptho, Project Assistant, Zunheboto DLSA.
Uniel Kichu, SP, Zunheboto spoke on the significance and importance of the programme while Zubenthung Ovung, SDPO Zunheboto delivered the vote of thanks.
