LBSSA emerges overall champion at 4th Inter Club Shooting Championship

Dimapur, April 16 (MExN): The Ladybird School Shooting Academy (LBSSA), Mokokchung, emerged as the overall champion at the 4th Inter Club Shooting Championship 2026, held on April 9 and 10 across two venues in Nagaland.

The championship was conducted at the Aries Rifle and Pistol Shooting Academy, Khelo India Centre, Dimapur, and the Ladybird School Shooting Academy, Mokokchung, attracting a total of 30 shooters.

Of the participants, 14 shooters were from Ladybird School Shooting Academy, Mokokchung, 11 from Aries Rifle and Pistol Shooting Academy (ARAPSA), Dimapur, and five from Sungratsu Shooting Academy (SSA), Mokokchung.

Rifle events:
In the 10m Air Rifle Bench Rest Men (Individual), Merangnori Longchari (ARAPSA), aged 10, secured first position with a score of 190, followed by Japika Zhimomi (184) and Harshvardhan Sethi (179). Kivimu Murumi (153) and Repatemsu Imchen (147) finished fourth and fifth respectively.

In the women’s category of the same event, Tiasen Lemtur (LBSSA), aged 10, secured first place with a score of 168.

Rongsennangshi Longchar (LBSSA), 14, won the 10m Air Rifle Sub Youth ‘A’ Men category with a score of 352. In Sub Youth ‘B’ Men, Akumzulu B Imsong (LBSSA) topped with 340, followed by Imojungba Pongen (324).

In Sub Youth ‘C’ Men, Jamidong Jamir (ARAPSA) secured first position with 158, while Yeheka Chophy and Jotham Gurung (both LBSSA) finished second and third respectively.

Lumrila Jangkhionger (LBSSA), 14, won the Sub Youth Women category with a score of 335.

In the Junior Men category, Merentsungba (ARAPSA), 19, topped with 368, followed by Jongmatoshi Jamir (SSA) with 331 and Tudenyanger Ozukum (SSA) with 322.

Menangsangba Walling (SSA), 15, won the Youth Men ‘B’ category with 308, while Bendangienla Ozukum (SSA), 15, secured first position in the Youth Women category with 307.

In the 10m Air Rifle Youth Women (ISSF) category, Yimyakumla (ARAPSA), 16, secured first position with a score of 597.3.

In the Men Individual category, Japuto Y. Zhimo (SSA) secured first position with 371, followed by Longchatemsu Longchar (SSA) with 335.

Chizou Sorhienuo (ARAPSA), 62, won the Senior Master Women category with a score of 347.

Pistol events:
In the 10m Air Pistol Bench Rest Men (Individual), Jongshilong Aier (LBSSA), aged 8, secured first position with 164, followed by Tapan Basumatary with 86.

In the Sub Youth ‘A’ Men category, Yimtashir Pongen (LBSSA), 12, secured first position with 345. Zidong Gurung (314) and Imnachanger Aier (306) finished second and third respectively.

In Sub Youth ‘B’ Men, Limakumzuk Meyur (LBSSA) secured first position with 122, followed by Imlionen Longkumer with 92.

In the 10m Air Pistol Master Men (ISSF) category, Lanu Rongsenkaba Jamir (ARAPSA), 49, secured first position with a score of 535.

The championship highlighted emerging young talent in shooting sports across Nagaland, with strong participation from junior and sub-youth categories.
