DIMAPUR, AUGUST 8 (MExN): The Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH) has expressed concern over the commercial weaving and sale of Lotha Naga traditional attires in some shops in Dimapur, alleging misuse of the designs, motifs and patterns.
In a circular, the LEH said it had “viewed the matter seriously” and warned that “such practice be immediately stopped so as to protect, preserve and safeguard the significance of each and every Lotha Naga attire.” It stated that the organisation had been informed of traditional attires being woven and sold in a manner that misuses their cultural elements. To address the issue, the LEH has requested the Dimapur Lotha Eloe Ekhung (DLEE) “to kindly take initiative and reach out to the concern Weavers/Handloom.”
