Lekromi Youth Society attains 75 years

Nagaland Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs. Minister Neiba Kronu today graced the 75 years anniversary of Lekromi Youth Society (LYS) at Lekromi village under Phek district.

Unveiling the 75 years anniversary monolith, the minister complimented LYS for attaining 75 glorious years since its formation in 1947.

He called upon the youth to work hard, adding that youth life is a prime and right time to strive for excellence in every walk of life.

He said that job avenue in the government sector has already reached a saturation point and it would be impossible task for the government to give job to all the educated youth.

In this, he challenged the youth to venture into entrepreneurship arena to sustain their livelihood and become business tycoon.

Stating that Pfutsero area is blessed with suitable climatic condition and fertile soil, he called upon the people to enhance agricultural activities to boost the rural economy.

Kronu said that a time has come for the farming community to take up agriculture on the note of competitive perspective, adding that the farmers need not to worry about the market now as various channel has been opened to sell their products.

Also stating that Pfutsero area possess immense potential for tourism industry, he called upon the people to focus on tourism promotion related activities.

He asserted that the people have to develop more welcoming attitude towards the tourists, for which, a standard home stay facilities need to be incorporated.

Earlier, Phusachodu Village Council Chairman Vehüpa Rose and Pfutseromi Village Council Chairman Lhiwepelo Ritse shared greetings.

LYS President Medongulo Mero delivered presidential address while Lekromi Village Council Chairman Mese Kapfo exhorted the gathering.

Vote of thanks was proposed by Weto Kapfo.

The celebration was marked by folk tune, yell, warrior dance and feast.
