Known for infusing affordable price range with providing quality eyewear for all age groups, Lenskart opened its first flagship store in Chümoukedima on April 28.
Located at GIZ Building in 5th Mile, near Faith Petrol Pump, which houses stores such as Firstcry and New-U, Lenskart has been launched under the proprietorship of Arinjay Jain. The store has a total of 11 employees, including two certified optometrists who will provide in-house free eye examination for its customers.
Metseivino who is the operations manager shared that, “The main idea for Lenskart is that we want to provide for the needs and vision of the people of Nagaland. This is a one stop store for the customers to get free eye check-up, and then get contact lenses or eyewear as well.”
She also revealed that buyers can avail the same discounts in the store that are provided on the Lenskart app as well.
Biswajit, Business head of East India for Lenkart besides mentioned that the company has around 20 operational stores in the Northeast. “The major concentration is in Assam, particularly Guwahati but we plan to expand it all across the region,” he said. Adding that besides Assam, this is the second store being opened after the first store was opened in Tripura.
“Nagaland is a very important and critical market for us as we got a lot of online queries from here. So we thought that we should definitely be present, physically in this market,” he noted.
Arinjay Jain, proprietor of Lenskart, Chümoukedima, also said that there are further plans to expand it across different locations in Dimapur. However, he opined that it depends on the response of the present store.
Lenskart is an Indian optical prescription eyewear chain based in New Delhi. It was first founded in the year 2010 by Peyush Bansal. As per the latest updates, the company has 900+ stores across 40 cities in the country.
It offers a wide array of the latest collection of eyewear trends, sunglasses and contact lenses.
