Let us be an agent of change

ome commented in social media, “If you want change, get out of your comfort zone and put into action outside.” I do believe that change becomes possible only out of our comfort zone but I also believe change begins from within our self and our home. There are many people who believe change can happen only out of our self and our home, that is, change is the outside force. But when it comes to reality, a question arises, “who is responsible for a change?” The answer could be me and you.

Peace and harmony is necessary in our state today. We cannot claim our Nagaland to be a peaceful state. Fighting among ourselves, groups against groups and most of all, there is no peace and harmony between leaders and public. The so called political leaders or public leaders fail to do the needful of the people. Students, youths and ordinary citizens are ignored of their rights and deprived of their shares. Infrastructural developments for public are less visible. The Different organisations meant for different purposes fails to take up their respective responsibilities which create discontentment in the mind of the people.

I believe that together we can change our system and I believe togetherness comes from within, that is, willing to humble ourselves and willing to sacrifice our selfishness. We must replace selfishness with self-sacrifice and righteousness. Righteousness does not come from outside. It is from within. Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam once said, and I quote, “Where there is righteousness in the heart, there is beauty in the character. When there is beauty in the character, there is harmony in the home. When there is harmony in the home, there is an order in the nation. When there is order in the nation, there is peace in the world.” Righteousness in each of our heart is, therefore, necessary for change and progress of our state.

It is to conclude that each one of us is responsible for change and progress of our state. Change and progress is possible with the participation of every people with a righteous heart. I, therefore, call upon all the young and old citizens to be responsible in our fight for change and progress in this coming general election. I call upon all the citizens to be an agent of change we want to see in our state. I also remind all citizens not to get fooled by the love of money and promises made to you during the campaigns. I also remind all citizens that choosing the right and honest leader is in our hands. It does not belong to others. Your one vote can make difference because when all of us choose the right leaders together, we can have a better future. I believe all of us will be responsible for change and progress of our state. Let Us Together Be An Agent Of Change.
