Three contestants are set to compete in the grand finale of the coveted 9th edition of the Naga Chef, ‘Let’s get cooking’ title at the ampitheatre, Naga Heritage Village, Kisama tomorrow.
In today’s elimination round, which was the 6th round of the competition which began on December 02, Guest Judge, Chef Gary Mehigan, Author & Restaurateur, one of the original judges of MasterChef Australia along with other judges judged the competition.
Today’s round saw ‘The Naga Basket’ round, where among the four, one was eliminated.
The three finalists are Keneilhoubei-ü Lense, Kazusangba Jamir and Tokupu Sumi.
The finalists will be cooking three sets of items for the title tomorrow namely a starter, main course and desserts, all in the Naga style.
A total of seven contestants were earlier screened to been cook during the 7 days. The contestants are being assessed on specific cooking skills, creativity and innovation, experience and knowledge of local cuisine, passion for food and the art of cooking, ability to work under pressure attitude and teamwork skills.
Naga Chef is organised by Synergy Group Enterprise and sponsored by the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland.
This year’s Naga Chef Winner will walk away with prize money of Rs 2 lakh and gift hampers and there will be gift hampers to the round winners.
The judges of the Naga Chef season 9 are Chef Joel Basumatari, Rovi Chase, and Alemjungla Jamir.
