Dearest Chief Minister of Nagaland Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu,
I on behalf of the students would like to state these few and important words that people in Nagaland know very well that you are very prominent educationist and one of the most lovers of the students. It is already in your knowledge that sir, the Central government has been giving Pre-matric Scholarship to the students of class 1-10 since seven eight years ago and till now every academic year it is continually giving the same to the students. It was heard that in the other states of India every year students get a good and handsome amount of this scholarship, whereas if we compare with the other states, Nagaland state education department has been giving little amount of money only to the applying students for last past years.
Last academic year that was 2016-17 students who were in class 7- 10 got Rs. 5,700/- (Five thousand seven hundred) only and students who were in class 1- 6 got Rs. 1000/- (one thousand) only.
To apply this scholarship parents spend about Rs.1000/- or more per student in order to obtain required documents. However, when students get scholarship they get discouraged for less amount they get and more amount they spend. Students of Nagaland should get the amount what the other states’ students are getting.
Therefore, all the students who are applying the said scholarship in this current year will be extremely happy and satisfied if you could possibly check and speak for children (students) whom you love so much and also do justice to them. You know better that this pre-matric scholarship scheme is very helpful for poor students. “Speak up for people who cannot speak for themselves. Protect the rights of all who are helpless. Speak for them and be a righteous judge. Protect the rights of the poor and needy,” the Bible says. Students would so much be grateful to you sir, for your kind intervention in this matter for the benefit of the students in general and for the pitiful students in particular. Central government gives this pre-matric scholarship for the financial assistance of the students only but not for the ministers or education department officers and so on. As Christian state (Nagaland) corruption should not get involved in this centrally sponsored scholarship.
