Kohima, October 29 (MExN): The Little Flower Higher Secondary School (LFHSS), Kohima inaugurated its annual science exhibition with the theme “science, technology and innovation for a sustainable development” on October 28.

The event was inaugurated by I Himato Zhimomi, IFS, Principal Secretary for Geology and Mining, Science and Technology, Government of Nagaland, who served as the special guest.

The inaugural ceremony commenced with an invocation prayer, followed by a welcome address by School Principal Sister Lucy Thomas. She emphasised that the exhibition was not merely a display of models but a ‘true symbol of creativity and innovation.’ The programme also included dance performance and choir presentation by the students.

In his address, Zhimomi shared nostalgic memories of being a student at the school in 1973. He encouraged students to “nurture the spirit of curiosity and enquiry” and to continue to “learn, seek, and innovate for a better future.”

The exhibition featured a wide range of working and non-working models on topics such as renewable energy, robotics, human anatomy, and environmental conservation.

Judges Kekuneil Henry Ltu, a scientist from the Nagaland Science and Technological Council, and Dr M Rajendra Nath Babu, a professor from Nagaland University, inspected the exhibits and provided constructive feedback to the participants.

Alongside scientific models, the event also showcased students’ artistic talents through displays of crochets, handmade crafts, and a live painting corner.

The exhibition was attended by parents and visitors who appreciated the students’ efforts. The Vice Principal, Sister KC Monica, delivered the vote of thanks.

Following the inaugural programme, the special guest visited the exhibition stalls and interacted with the students.
