DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 11 (MExN): The Lions Club of Dimapur Elite organised a dental awareness and screening camp at St Mary’s Higher Secondary School here on Monday, involving students, parents, teachers and club members in an initiative to promote oral health.
The programme was graced by Lion Dr Neena Dutta, Vice District Governor and Principal of St Mary’s Higher Secondary School, and Lion Prateek Dutta, Administrator of Lions Club of Dimapur and St Mary’s Higher Secondary School. Both emphasised the importance of oral health awareness among young people.
Consultant Orthodontist and Dentofacial Orthopedician, Dr Arihant Jain (BDS, MDS, FAGE, FWFO), delivered the keynote address, stressing the need for proper dental hygiene and preventive care. Supporting the screening activities were dental professionals Dr Vezita Lohe (BDS), Dr Roshni Rai (BDS) and Consultant Endodontist Dr Limayanger Jamir (BDS, MDS).
The initiative was organised under the leadership of Club President, Lion Meena Sethi, with Project Chairperson, Lion Sakshi Binaykia, coordinating the planning and execution.
The camp included dental check-ups and screenings for students to help identify early-stage oral health issues and provide guidance on proper dental care.
The Lions Club of Dimapur Elite said the initiative aligns with its mission to promote community health and well-being, adding that the camp aims to encourage lifelong dental hygiene practices among students and families.
