LJP (RV) Nagaland disassociates from leader’s press statement

Kohima, April 17 (MExN): The Nagaland unit of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) on Friday disassociated itself from a recent press release issued by its national secretary S Richard Humtsoe, stating that it was made without the knowledge or approval of the state unit.

In a statement, the party said neither its state office bearers nor the State Executive Committee had prior information, consultation or authorisation regarding the issuance of the press release, and asserted that it does not reflect the official position of the Nagaland unit.

An emergency meeting of the State Executive Committee was convened after the matter came to light, during which members unanimously resolved to abstain from the contents of the press release.

The committee categorically distanced the state unit from the statements made, clarifying that it had no role, involvement or endorsement of the claims or positions expressed.

The party further stated that the remarks made by Humtsoe were in his personal capacity and represent his individual opinion, and do not constitute the official stance or policy of the Nagaland unit.

Reiterating its commitment to due process and collective decision-making, the party said it adheres to organisational protocol in all matters of public communication. The statement was issued to ensure clarity and prevent any misinformation, it added.
