Kohima, August 26 (MExN):The Linguistic Minority Forum of Nagaland (LMFN) and the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) have extended greetings to Ajay Kumar Bhalla on being sworn in as the 22nd Governor of Nagaland on August 25 at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, in the presence of Chief Justice Ashutosh Kumar.

In a statement, the LMFN expressed confidence in the Governor’s guidance and leadership in upholding constitutional values, promoting inclusive development, and strengthening the unity in diversity that defines Nagaland.

The forum highlighted its expectation that the interests and welfare of minority communities in the State will be duly safeguarded alongside those of the majority population.

Meanwhile, the NDPP congratulated Bhalla on his appointment, noting his extensive experience as a retired Indian Administrative Service officer and former Union Home Secretary, a position he held for five years, becoming only the second officer to do so.

The party said his experience would be valuable in guiding the Government of Nagaland, led by the Chief Minister, and steering the State with prudence and efficiency.

Both the LMFN and NDPP wished the Governor a successful and purposeful tenure, with the NDPP affirming its support in his efforts to attend to the affairs of the State.

Bhalla, who is the Governor of Manipur, has been given additional charge of Nagaland following the demise of Governor La Ganesan on August 15.
