TUENSANG, NOVEMBER 14 (MExN): Loyem Memorial School celebrated Children’s Day on Friday with performances, speeches and a message of encouragement for students to nurture discipline, values and curiosity.
The programme opened with a welcome address from the principal, who highlighted the significance of Children’s Day and reminded students of the importance of growing with care, guidance and purpose. She urged them to uphold discipline, develop strong values and work steadily toward their goals.
The event featured guest speaker Akhang Lemba, proprietor of Excellent Coaching Centre, who encouraged students to dream boldly and work consistently toward excellence. He stressed the role of education in shaping responsible citizens and urged young learners to remain curious, resilient and positive.
Throughout the celebration, students presented a series of colourful performances, including dances, songs and group items that showcased their creativity. A humorous drama performed by teachers added to the excitement and drew warm applause from the students, strengthening the sense of community within the school.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from headmaster Tapu Paul, who acknowledged the contributions of the guest speaker, school leadership, teachers, students and support staff. He encouraged students to carry the spirit of Children’s Day into their everyday lives.
The school said the celebration aimed to promote joy, unity and holistic growth among students, calling the day a memorable and meaningful experience.
