Sumi Tuluni on July 7 – 8

Kohima, July 4 (MExN):
The Sumi Hoho will be organizing a grand celebration of Sumi Tuluni from July 7 to 8 at Zunheboto. The general meeting (Baghi Hoho) will be held on July 7 at 1:00 PM while the main celebration will take place on July 8 from 9:00 AM onwards under the theme “Peace, unity and reconciliation.” The celebration will be graced by Assu Isak Chishi Swu as Tuluni father follow by a word of exhortation from Kitovi N. Zhimomi. The programme will also be marked by presidential address by Sumi Hoho president H. Hesso, HS Rotokha on behalf of senior citizens, Aheto Zhimomi, chairman SBC, Tokheho Yepthomi, leader of opposition, G. Kaito Aye, minister of road & bridges, Nagaland. Meanwhile, the organizing committee has requested the resource speakers to speak solely for the welfare and upliftment of the Sumi’s in particular.

PMEGP interview for Kohima dist applicants

Kohima, July 4 (MExN):
The District Industries Centre, Kohima informed all the applicants of Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) for the year 2011-12 under Kohima district that the interview will be conducted at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner, Kohima on July 12 to 13 from 9:00 AM onwards. The interview for DIC applicants will be held on July 12 and the KVIB applicants on July 13. There will be no separate calling letters for the said interview, a release received here said today. All the candidates have been requested to bring original documents without which their interview will not be entertained, the release added.

Science seminar at Zbto on August 2

Zunheboto, July 4 (DIPR):
The District Level Science Seminar will be held on August 2 from 11 a.m. at the Government High School Zunheboto. District Education Officer, Education Department, is organizing the programme under the theme, ‘Chemistry for Human Welfare: Promises and Concerned’. In this regard, all Government High School and Private High school/Government and Private High School are informed to submit the names of two participants to represent their schools on or before 25th July 2011 to the District Education Officer (DEO) Zunheboto.

Wokha DPDB postponed

Wokha, July 4 (DIPR):
The monthly District Planning & Development Board meeting Wokha district has been postponed to July 11 due to unavoidable circumstances. Venue and time remain the same. Deputy Commissioner, Wokha Rovilatuo Mor has requested all the members to take note of the same and attend the meeting positively.

SBI Jalukie celebrates State Bank day

The 56th State Bank Day was celebrated by SBI Jalukie branch on July 1, 2011 with the Branch Manager L. AIPEU calls off strike

Dimapur, July 4 (MExN):
Following the meeting held between the representatives of All Postal Employees Union (AIPEU) and the secretary, Department of Post, Government of India on July 1, the postal employees union decided to call off the strike, which was set on 5th July, 2011. The strike was called off after the secretary gave the union its assurance to look into their demands. In a press release by Kekhriezetou Solo, Divisional Secretary, APIEU, Kohima stated that if any violation of the assurances takes place the Union will resume the strike again.

Music festival for children

Dimapur, July 4 (MExN):
The Education & Communication of NBCC along with Kids Worship Centre Is set to organize a three day Children music festival from July 5 to 7, at Sumi Baptist Church, Dimapur. All children are invited to join the programme that will include activities like competition, workshops, praise & worship and Food stalls. There will be competition between children for the age group of 14 years and below on Solo: Violin, Keyboard, Drums, Classical Guitar, Solo (song), Children’s Choir and Indigenous. SAARC and Commonwealth meeting

Dimapur, July 4 (MExN):
The 5th SAARC Speakers & Parliamentarians Conference to be held from July 9 to 11 will be attended by Kiyanilie Peseyie, Speaker and A.E. Lotha, Secretary Nagaland Legislative Assembly, followed by the 57th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association briefing meeting on July 12. According to a press release issued by Pangmala, Additional Secretary, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Kohima the conference-meeting is to be held at New Delhi.

Pangti Village Unit congressmen resign

Dimapur, July 4 (MExN):
Pangti Village Unit of the Congress Committee under 39 Sanis Assembly Constituency under Wokha district has resigned from the active and primary membership of the Indian National Congress (INC) with effect from June 30. The joint resignation was made in good faith initiated by TL Merry, vice president NPF Central, and the same was declared on June 30 at DHEP in the presence of TL Merry and other senior leaders from NPF Central office, Pangti VCC president Khonsao Shitiri and the general secretary Thungdemo Yanthan said in a press release. The resigned members included Khonsa Shitiri, President Pangti VCC; Thungdemo Yanthan, Pangti VCC general secretary; and members namely Nribemo Lotha, Renchio, Nzibeni, Martha Shitiri and Nribeni.

Manager SBI Mokokchung informs

Mokokchung, July 4 (DIPR):
Consequent upon transfer of a government employee, who have availed loan from the Bank, the Chief Manager, State Bank of India, Mokokchung Branch has informed all Head of Departments/DDOs to send the concern employee along with the transfer order to the Bank so as to obtain documents signed by the transfer employee in order to make more convenient to transfer his/her loan account to the new posting place. The Chief Manager said without obtaining the suitable document /application signed by the employee concern, the SBI Mokokchung Branch shall not be in a position to transfer his loan account to new place of posting/stop deduction of loan installment from the department concerned.

KSUJ fresher’s Day cum Past pupil meet

The Kyong Student’s Union Jakhama (KSUJ) will host its 24th Fresher’s Day cum Past pupil on July 23 under the theme “Be a Man”. The programme will be held at Ungma Kiti Conference Hall at 9:30 AM, Kohima where Dr. K. Tsemomo Lotha Joint Director, Directorate of Health and family welfare and Er. C. KSU seizes gutkha

Dimapur, July 4 (MExN):
The Konyak Students’ Union conducted surprise checking to curb sale of “banned gutkha” at Mon town and seized the items from the shops, which were worth R s 50,000 and burnt it in the office compound in the presence of NGOs’ leaders, public and union’s office bearers and witnessed by onlookers. The union has warned the shopkeepers not to sell gutkha and those who violates it will face stern action, informed a press note issued by its president Methna Konyak and chairman of Action Committee H Chingsak Konyak. The note also stated that in a separate incident the union received a complaint letter from a consumer against the manager of a certain shop in the town for selling a toy truck for Rs 200 though the actual printed MEP was Rs 49. The union summoned the manager to the KSU office and where, he confessed and regretted indulging in malpractice and exploiting the customers and promised not to repeat again.
