DDL inauguration on July 15

Mokokchung, July 14 (DIPR):
Mangkolemba Sub-Division under Mokokchung district will get a Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (DDL), Veterinary & Animal Husbandry. The new DDL building will be inaugurated at 10:00 am on July 15 by Director, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Dr. L.S Moses. With this inauguration, livestock breeders in three ranges of Cangkikong, Japukong and Tzurangkong are expected to get a fillip in treatment of their livestock.

KTHU meet on July 20

Dimapur, July 14 (MExN):
Kohima Town Hotel Union (KTHU) has scheduled an emergency meeting on July 20 at Conclave Hall, ICS building near Ao Church, Midland, Kohima regarding issues confronting the Union. A press note issued by N Theyo, president and Ruokuozelie Angami, general secretary KTHU requested all concerned to attend the meeting without fail.

KPC general meeting on July 19

Dimapur, July 14 (MExN): The Kohima Press Club (KPC) has convened a general body meeting to be held on July 19 at KPC conference hall at 1:00 PM to discuss issues pertaining to the audit committee report. Members may also bring other agendas for discussion. KPC General Secretary Khriezovonuo Lhoungu in a press note has requested all executives and members to attend the meeting positively.

IMFL destroyed at Zunheboto
 
Zunheboto, July 14 (DIPR):
Destruction of Indian made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) was carried out on 13th July 2011 at South Point Zunheboto. Around 1260 bottles of IMFL was seized and destroyed by the Excise Department Zunheboto under the supervision of Superintendent of Excise S. Imkong in the presence of EAC Zunheboto Nchumbemo. Members from Sumi Baptist Church Zhunheboto and Sumi Totimi Hoho and Excise Department staff were also present.

DGU meeting on July 16

Dimapur, July 14 (MExN):
The Dimapur Gorkha Union (DGU) has convened a meeting on July 16, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Gorkha Bhawan, Nepali Goan, Dimapur. A press note issued by Loknath Lopchand, vice-chairman DGU stated that the meeting will discuss important issues pertaining to the union. The note therefore requested all the units and affiliated frontal organizations to attend the meeting without fail.
 
District level science seminar 2011

Kohima, July 14 (MExN) :
The District Education Officer, Kohima informed all schools both government and private under the DEO Kohima that the district level science seminar 2011 on the topic “Chemistry for human welfare: promises and concerns” will be held on August 30 at 9:00 AM at the Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima. Students’ upto Class 10 level are eligible for participation and 2 best participants will be sent to represent the district at the state level science seminar 2011.
This was stated in a release issued by Zaveyi Nyekha, DEO Kohima.

Kohima, July 14 (MExN): The Ruthless Sabotage with the guest band Pencil & Crayon and guest artist Toshinaro (Naga Idol 2008) and Sunep will be organizing a concert in aid of Orphanage & Destitute Home Kohima on Saturday at the State Academy Hall, Kohima at 5:30 PM.

Chakhesang Students’ Union assembly

DIMAPUR, JULY 14  (MExN):
The Chakhesang Students’ Union have summoned the 5th Union Assembly on 15th July 2011 at Conclave hall, LCS building, Kohima, 11:00 am. The house will deliberate on the union activities and various issues confronting the union and the community in general. All the Executive members, affiliated units/ subordinate bodies are asked to attend positively. Further, taking serious note on the Union Assembly attendance resolution, the Union Speaker, Mr. Thupukutho Lohe, has cautioned the insincerity of the units/subordinate bodies. It urged all the concern leaders to be more attentive so as to avoid any unwanted consequences. Meanwhile, it has invited all the senior leaders, intellectuals to attend with positive input for fruitful deliberation.

Meeting on NBCC platinum jubilee

Chairman, Planning Committee for the Nagaland Baptist Church Council Platinum Jubilee, Alemtemshi Jamir, ACS & Development Commissioner has called a meeting of all the Chairpersons of the various committees to have a joint meeting for deliberation on the various issues relating to the Platinum Jubilee at the NBCC office, Bayavu, Kohima on July 15 at 2 p.m. All chairpersons are requested to attend the meeting without fail.

Kyong Eloe Hoho backs women quota

DIMAPUR, JULY 14 (MExN):
The Kyong Eloe Hoho (KEH) in the wake of the hearing scheduled on 15 July on the issue of 33 percent Women Reservation extends its support for the participation of women to the civic body elections (Town and Municipal Councils) in the state. This was stated in a press note issued by Thungjano Tsanglao President and Nzano Kikon, General Secretary Kyong Eloe Hoho. The KEH implored upon the state government to take into consideration the importance of women in decision making and other related activities for the betterment of the society. KEH as the apex body of the Kyong (Lotha) women reiterates its support to the present demand of the Naga women in the participation to
the civic body elections.
