Training of Asha on NVBDCP

Dimapur, July 16 (MExN): One day re-orientation training of Asha on NVBDCP of Medziphema block was conducted at Medziphema CHC on July 14. The programme was chaired by Dr. Elizabeth, Medical Officer while exhortation was given by Dr. K Assumi, District Epidemiologist. Dr. Moa, district programme officer NVBDCF spoke on sign and symptoms of vector borne diseases, Tali, Zonal Entomologist spoke on roles and responsibilities of ASHA in VBDCP and Atu Longkumer spoke on technique of blood smear taking. Practical session was conducted in the evening where 33 people actively participated.

Rio to release biopic on Dr Shurhozelie
 
Kohima, July 16 (DIPR): Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio will formally release the Biography (Biopic) on Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu, Minister for Higher & Technical and Urban Development on July 18 at ‘The Heritage’ Old DC Bungalow. The programme is organised by The Global Open University, Nagaland. According to the programme, Alovi Zhimomi will be the host while Director of The Global Open University, Nagaland, Imotemsu Ao will deliver the welcome address and word from the Producer will be given by the Producer/Director of Busy Bee Films, Sandila. Dr. Shurhozelie will also give a speech and vote of thanks will be delivered by OSD, The Global Open University, Dr. RC Murry.  After the function, there will be an interaction with the media persons.

Rengma mothers support 33% quota

Dimapur, July 16 (MExN): The Rengma Mothers’ Association has resolved to extend its fullest supports to the Naga Mothers’ Association in the fight for full implementation of the 33% reservation for women in decision-making bodies. The decision to this effect was taken in its general meeting held at Headquarter Tseminyu Town on July 12. The meeting also strongly felt that since the Act was passed in the floor of the house, the state government should do justice and fully implement the Act in the Municipal and Town Council election which is already due. In this regard, the RMA appealed the state government for an early conduct of the election to the civic bodies and implement the Act fully thereby do justice to the women, stated a press note issued by its president Kelusha Kath and joint secretary Ruth Thong.
