DGU Election Commission informs
Dimapur, July 19 (MExN): The Election Commission of the Dimapur Gorkha Union (DGU) has fixed the date for the Election of the Dimapur Gorkha Union on July 30, at Gorkha Bhawan, Nepali Goan, Dimapur from 10:00 am onward. As per the meeting of the Election Commission held on July 18, the Convener of the Election Commission, Dipak Lama said that the Membership Form for the Central Executive Member will be sent to all the Units and the Affiliated Frontal Organizations and the same should be submitted to the Election Commission on or before July 27, 2011. Intending candidates for the Post of Chairman and General Secretary may collect the Nomination Papers on the day of the Election.
NVAA condoles
Dimapur, July 19 (MExN): The Nagaland Veterinary Assistant’s Association (NVAA) mourns the sudden demise of Henizu Sumi (VFA), District Veterinary Office Dimapur on July 15, 2011. “He was serving as the vice-president Dimapur District Veterinary Field Assistant Associations, stated a condolence note issued by Yanthungo Lotha, general secretary, NVFAA. The association said on his death, it has lost an upright and able leader and the void created by his demise would be hard to fill. The association further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
NFP central office bearers meeting
Dimapur, July 19 (MExN): The next meeting of the NPF central office bearers will be held on July 27 at 11:00 am at the Central Office, Kohima. The meeting was convened by NPF president Dr Shürozelie in exercise of the powers conferred on him vide Article No V Clause 3 & 10 of the Constitution of the NPF party. All the concerned members are requested to attend the meeting without fail on time.
KGMS election
Dimapur, July 19 (MExN): All the Gorkha public of Kohima are informed that the election of Kohima Gorkha Mahila Samiti (KGMS) for the tenure 2011-2014 will be held on August 7 at 11:00 am in the GPP(K) Hall. A press note informed that interested candidates can obtain the nomination form from any of the Election Committee members from July 21 onwards. The members are Dilrupa Rai, Kavita Chetri, Sukhmaya Rai, Jaya Pradhan, BB Gurung, Prem Kumar Thapa and Gowan Sharma. The last date for submission/filing of nomination is July 31.
NLA condoles
Dimapur, July 19 (MExN): Nagaland Legislative Assembly condoles the demise of Late Yongkonglemba Chang, ex-head Dobashi of Noksen sub-division who hailed from Longtang Village of Tuensang district on July 19, 2011 at Noksen town. A condolence note issued by A.E Lotha, secretary stated that H.Chuba Chang, MLA of 51 A/C Noksen condoles the death and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family with a prayer to comfort through the grace of God.
Laboratory Technician interview
Dimapur, July 19 (MExN): The interview for the post of Laboratory Technician under the Department of Health and Family Welfare is to be held on August 5 at Para-Medical Training Institute (PMTI), Kohima, from 9: 00 am onwards. The short-listed candidate is being put up on the notice board of the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare (DHFW), Kohima. Short-listed candidates may collect their admit cards for the interview (Oral/Written/Practical) from Section-III, DHFW, informed Dr. R. Imtimeren Jamir, Principal Director, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare in a press note.
TR Zeliang to inaugurate Kiphire DPO
Dimapur, July 19 (MExN): The Kiphire District Planning & Development Board members are informed that TR Zeliang, Minister for Planning & Coordination, Evaluation, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Nagaland, will be coming to Kiphire on July 26. Zeliang will inaugurate the District Planning Office on July 27 at 9:00 AM. T Torechu, Parliamentary Secretary, CAWD & Chairman, DPDB, Kiphire desires that all the HoDs and DPDB members, Kiphire attend the function without fail. Meanwhile, all the Kiphire DPDB members are infirmed that the DPDB meeting will be held on July 26 at 11:00 AM in the office chamber of the DC, Kiphire where T Torechu, will chair. All the Kiphire DPDB members are, therefore, requested to take note of the time and attend both the function/meeting without fail.
Biometric begins in Dhansiripar
Dimapur, July 19 (MExN): Biometric data collection for residents of Dhansiripar sub-division in Dimapur began today. The biometric team will cover 34 villages under Dhansiripar till August 2, 2011. The team will cover about 4 villages in a single day but will not halt in any village for more then one day. A tentative tour of the biometric of Census 2011 has been provided by the district administration to all the villages. The sub-divisional officer Dhansiripar, Anoop Khinchi informed that the biometric data is being collected for the National Population Register (NPR) as per the provisions of the Citizenship Rule 2003, to issue National Identity Cards to all citizens of the country. He said that under this, face photography, iris scanning and finger printing will be collected for people above the age of five. After data collection, the list of all usual residents will be complied and verified. Any errors and claims or objections can be filed with the local registrar. He further said that the exercise aims at providing a unique number to all citizens with data base and containing simple biometric data which can be easily verified. This will provide opportunity to poor and marginalized people to enter into formal banking systems, he said. It will also provide opportunities for availing all government services. Biometric data collection in the State is undertaken by two private companies and assisted by the Department of Census. Data collection under Niuland sub-division was the first to be covered in Dimapur.
