Info on clearance work at NH-29
Kohima, August 19 (DIPR): Public may be aware that due to incessant rain and continuous landslides along NH-29, concerned Government Agencies have been working round the clock to facilitate smooth flow of traffic on this road for the past few months. However, due to unavoidable circumstances, such clearance works will henceforth be stopped between 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. at Lower Bye-Pass Area, Kohima. DC Kohima, Bei-u Angami has therefore, requested all concerned to co-operate.
NASU Educational Tour
Kohima, August 19 (MExN): The Northern Angami Students’ Union (NASU) organizes Educational tour to its entire affiliated unit under the theme “Education drive” from August 23-30. A press release issued by secretary Education committee Keduoneilie Rüpreo said its aim is to visit all the government establishment schools within the Northern Angami jurisdiction. Nepali language recognition day
Kohima, August 19 (MExN): The North Eastern Region Service Nepali Association will be celebrating 20th years of Nepali Language Recognition Day on August 20 at 1:00 PM at Middle PWD Colony, Durgabari Kohima. Kumar Subba, president Gorkha Union Dimapur will grace the occasion as the chief guest while L.N. Subba, chief convenor Gorkha Janna Mukti Morcha North East and president Nepali Suraksha Parishad Karbi Anglong Assam will be the guest of honour. All the Nepalis/Gorkha has been requested to attend the function positively.

Socio Economic and Caste Census
Kohima, August 19 (DIPR): The Central Government has decided to conduct the Socio Economic and Caste Census for the year 2011. The Socio Economic and Caste Census would be carried out by the respective State Government with the financial and technical support of the Government of India. In pursuance of this, the Government of Nagaland has declared that the Socio-Economic and Caste Census shall be conducted in the State of Nagaland from November 1 to December 15, 2011. In this regard the Government of Nagaland has instructed and directed the Enumerators to collect information of all persons within the limit of the area for which he/she is appointed with the conduct of the Socio-Economic and Caste Census 2011. This notification was issued by Chief Secretary Nagaland, Lathara IAS on August 18.

NWC to conduct legal awareness prog
Dimapur, August 19 (MExN): The Nagaland State Commission for Women is organizing Legal Awareness programme at Kiphire and Tuensang town on the theme “Know your legal rights” with special emphasis on “Statutory rights of women”. A press note issued by N.Hushili Sema, secretary, NWC stated that the seminar will be held on August 24, 2011 at Kiphire town and at Town hall, Tuensang on August 25 from 10:00 am, where the following delegates are invited: VCC or head GB from each village- one delegate, one women leader from each village- one delegate each.

Alternative routes for Kohima-Dimapur vehicles
Dimapur, August 19 (MExN): Due to the occurrence of landslides/mudslides at several locations along the National Highway, the Highway remains blocked temporarily thus affecting the normal movement of vehicles. Therefore, in order to ease the movement of vehicles and also to allow the agencies to carry out the restoration works during such situations, the Department of R&B informs that the following alternative routes can be followed for Kohima-Dimapur vehicles: Heavy vehicles can travel along Khopanalla-Mhainamtsu-Ghaspani road and Light vehicles can travel along Niuland-Zhadima road (NH 2 junction at 10th Mile).
The Minister, Roads & Bridges and NH, G. Kaito Aye along with the officers of the Roads & Bridges Department visited Khopanalla-Mhainamtsu-Ghaspani road and Ghaspani-Heningkonglwa-Ruzaphema-Old Peren road on August 17 to assess the road conditions and the feasibility of plying of vehicles in case of blockage of the National Highway 29 during this rainy season. The roads were found to be through without any blockage by landslides/subsidence.
