Kohima, September 23 (MExN): The General cum picnic cum lottery draw of Highway Traders Union (HTU) will be held on September 24 and each member under the union are requested to close their shops and avail themselves for the event respectively with fail. Dimapur, September 23 (MExN): The Western Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu has convened a joint meeting for Planning Board, Finance Committee & Convenors on September 24, 2011 at Akuvuto Mission Centre at 10:30 am. A press note issued by Rev. Ikuto Jimo, youth secretary, WSBAK, Akuvuto stated that and this will be the last final joint meeting in regard to the forthcoming 27th Annual Session cum Triennial conference of NBCC from October 21 to 23, 2011 hosted by WSBAK Youth Department, so all the concern members are requested to attend the meeting without fail.
MMC to check pork and beef sellers
Dimapur, September 23 (DIPR): Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) has regretted that Pork and Beef sellers within the Municipal jurisdiction are not maintaining cleanliness in their respective stalls in spite of directives given to them after conducting inspection by a joint team of CMO officials and MMC staff. The MCC once again instructed them to maintain cleanliness. They were asked to renovate their stalls and cover the walls and the counters by aluminum sheet to ensure greater hygiene. The MMC said it will conduct checking of stalls with effect from October 11 and warned that any one found not complied with its directives shall be penalized as per the provision of law.

Kohima September 23 (MExN): Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) notified to all schools, colleges and universities that the last date for submission of entries for competition on Essay writing, slogan and painting on the theme “Clean Life”, on the aspects of Kohima organized by KMC has been extended upto September 26. This has been notified by Elizabeth Ngullie, Chief Executive Officer, KMC.
Yitachu to grace Onam festival
Dimapur, September 23 (DIPR): Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism, Justice & Law, Government of Nagaland, Yitachu will grace the Onam festival as the chief guest at the Heritage Kohima Old DC’s Bungalow on September 25, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. The festival is organized by the Malayali Samajan Kohima, the apex body of the Keralites residing in Kohima. The programme will mark by presentation of various traditional and cultural programmes.

Nagaland to observe NDMA day on Sept 28
Dimapur, September 23 (DIPR): Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has informed all District Administrative Heads to observe September 28, 2011 as National Disaster Management Authority Day (NDMA) by organizing painting competition for school children in their respective districts. The NSDMA under Home Department informed district administration to organize the painting competition under the theme ‘Towards Safer Nagaland’. SDO (C), Tsuktimar, who is also Nodal Officer, Disaster Management Cell, Mokokchung requested all schools to organize the competition to mark the observance of the day. They are also informed to submit results of the competition for onward submission to the Home Department.

Kohima, September 23 (MExN): The Red Ribbon Club of Alder College in collaboration with Kohima District Voluntary Blood Donors Association is all set to conduct HIV/AIDS awareness and blood donation programme on October 1 from 10:00 am onwards. The programme, to be held under the theme “Share Life,” is supported by Nagaland State AIDS Control Society. Dr. V. Khamo, Kezevinuo Pienyü and Nukshinaro will the resource persons.
