Power supply to be disrupted
Dimapur, September 26 (DIPR): In view of repairing work being carried out on 66/32 KV Tuli Sub-Station, normal power supply to Mon, Longleng and some parts of Mokokchung will be stopped on September 28 and 29, 2011 from 6:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m. This was stated in a release by Engineer Transmission Division, Mokokchung. The department regretted the inconvenience caused to the consumers.

Kohima, September 26 (MExN): A meeting for all the federating unit of Eastern Naga Students’ Union of various colleges under Kohima and its sub-division have been requested to attend the joint sitting to be held on September 27 at 2:00 pm at DUDA Guest House. Food grains release from Sept 29
Kohima, September 26 (MExN): Assistant Director, Food & Civil Supplies, Lanutoshi Jamir informed to all the FPS/village councils of Kohima centre that AAY food-grains for two months will be released from September 29 and 30, 2011 between 11:00 am to 3:00 pm and directed all concerned FPS/village councils to collect their respective quota within the stipulated time.
LMCP Inspectors notified
Dimapur, September 26 (DIPR): In exercise of the power conferred by section 54 of the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 (Central Act No. 1 of 2010), the Governor of Nagaland has directed that the Inspectors of Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection in Nagaland appointed under Sub-Section (1) of Section 13 of the said Act, shall exercise the powers and discharge their duties of Inspectors conferred or imposed on them by or under the said Act throughout the district within which they are posted. This was stated in a notification issued by Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, K.T. Sukhalu.
Government Notifies on UID
Dimapur, September 26 (DIPR): The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the only body mandated to allot Unique Identification (UID) number has now adopted a Multi Registrar approach to enroll residents for UID. The need for a coordinated approach to ensure orderly enrolment was discussed on August 30, 2011, in the Office Chamber of Additional Chief Secretary & Development Commissioner, Nagaland. Nagaland Chief Secretary Lalthara has therefore, in compliance to directions of the UIDAI and decision taken in above referred meeting, notified to all the non State Registrar to share and finalise their enrolment plans in consultation with the State Registrar of UID (Additional Chief Secretary & Commissioner, Nagaland) and the State Nodal Department, (Planning & Coordination Department) before commencing enrolment.
Legal awareness prog held at Longleng
Dimapur, September 26 (DIPR): Longleng District Legal Awareness programme was held on September 22, 2011 at PPC Hall Longleng. The programme was organised by Nagaland State Commissioner for Women in collaboration with National Commissioner for Women New Delhi. During the programme Purniken First Class Magistrate Longleng spoke on the topic ‘Statutory Right of women and Protection women from domestic violence’ and SDPO Longleng Konjok spoke on the topic ‘role of police in safeguarding women rights’ followed by discussion hour. Earlier, the programme was chaired by Ellen Konyak while vote of thanks was delivered by Abeni T.C.K. Member NSCW. More than 5000 people attended the programme.
State level research seminar concludes
Dimapur, September 26 (MExN): The two days state level research seminar on ‘Naga traditional and cultural customary’ jointly organized by Indigenous Cultural Society Nagaland and North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) Dimapur on September 23 and 24, 2011 at Indigenous Cultural Society Centre Dimapur was successfully concluded. A press note issued by Dr.Hesheto Y. Chishi, Director, Indigenous Cultural Society Nagaland, stated that the organizer wish to thank NEZCC for join venturing new initiative on customary studies, K.K.Sema, IAS Rtd Commissioner and Secretary Art and Culture Department for gracing the inaugural function, resource persons of different tribes for availing their valuable resources, and participants from different professional background.
AVC on rectification of new village
Dimapur, September 26 (MExN): The Anaki Village Council clarifies and states that while regulating the surrounding boundary schedule of a new village, clear status of the established territorial jurisdiction of the area/locality specially the nomenclatures of village and its jurisdictional location etc should be carefully ensured to avoid any confusion or misunderstanding as the location of the said new village in question is in the inter-district boundary vicinity. A press note issued by T. Nuken, chairman, AVC stated that the clarification is in connection to a public notice issued by DC Longleng to recognition of a new village called Angpong Village under Longleng district wherein it was stated and indicated in the boundary schedule on the west as Anakai Khiti which was being misspelled or otherwise instead of Anaki Village territory in Mokokchung district. Therefore, AVC in the note earnestly requested to the competent authority for necessary rectification and may indicate the territory on the west of the said new village as bounded by Anaki village territory in Mokokchung district under inter sub-division.
