JSU golden jubilee committee meeting

Dimapur, September 29 (MExN):
The Golden Jubilee Committee, Jalukie Students’ Union (JSU) has convened its consultative meeting with all the ex- presidents and ex-secretaries of the Union on October 2 at 11: 30 AM at the residence of its president for the up coming Golden Jubilee. Therefore, all the concern members, sub-ordinates of the Union and specified officials were informed to attend the same on the given date and time without fail. This was informed in a press note issued by Irangbui, Information & Publicity Secretary, Jalukie Students’ Union Nagaland.

Kirha VC Dimapur meeting Sept 30

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 29 (MExN):
The Kirha village council Dimapur has convened a general meeting on September 30 at Balaje Mill at 4 pm. A release issued by the village council chairman Razoukul Angami has requested all the village members to attend the said meeting without fail. Meanwhile, it has also informed that a sanitation drive will be carried out in and around the village on October 1 starting from 7 to 9 am. Therefore, all the Kirha community members, young and old, are asked to join the cleanliness drive.

SNUNS meeting on October 5

Dimapur, September 29 (MExN):
All the presidents, general secretaries and representatives of South Naga Tribes hohos based in Nagaland are informed to attend the general meeting of South Nagas’ Union of Nagaland State (SNUNS) on October 5 at 11:00 am in the conference hall of People In-Need Foundation Society (opp. SBI super market, Dimapur). The Union general secretary LK Peter Anal in a press release has informed that no official information letter will be served to individual hohos for the meeting. Therefore, this meeting information through media should be treated as official.

Mkg senior citizens to walk on Oct 1

Mokokchung, September 29 (DIPR):
A kilometer walk by senior citizens of Mokokchung town at sun rise from Imlong Place (Police Point) to Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School (MGHSS) and Health check up for senior citizens will mark the observance of International Day of Senior citizens in Mokokchung town on October 1. After the walk a function will be held at MGHSS where Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi will speak on government policies and welfare programmes for older persons.  Health check up will be conducted after the function by Doctors from Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital, Mokokchung.

Home minister to grace KLCSU meet

Kohima, September 29 (MExN):
The Kohima Law College Students’ Union (KLCSU) informed all the students of Kohima Law College that the Union will be holding its 32nd freshers’ meet on September 30 at 10:00 AM at the State Academy Hall, Kohima. Minister for home Imkong L. Imchen will grace the occasion as the chief guest. Students have been requested to attend the said function without fail, failing which a fine of Rs. 100 will be imposed. All the outgoing seniors have also been invited to the occasion.

NWHD condemns

Dimapur, September 29 (MExN):
The Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) in the strongest term condemned the brutal and inhuman act committed by one Thiputo Kezo a resident of 4th mile with his accomplice Ali who attempted to murder his own wife on September 25, for such an act is total violation of human rights. NWHD President Hukheli T. Wotsa, further urged men in authority to award befitting punishment to the criminal, that unexposed wife beater can change because many women are suffering in silence.

Durga Puja celebration in Kohima

Kohima, September 29 (MExN):
The Kohima Bazar Puja Committee will celebrate the Durga Puja near Head Post Office, Kohima from October 2 to 5. The celebration will start with Sasti Puja & Adibas on October 2 from 7:00 PM.

JDV undertakes tree plantation at Phek

 The Joie De Vivre (JDV) Phek had organized a tree plantation drive on September 12 at Phek Village covering five locations including NEC, Phek Junction, Tourist Resort, Dispensary and Government High School of Phek Village Complex. The plantation which was undertaken in collaboration with the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) Phek Kendra was carried out under the theme: “Keep Environment Green”. The NYKS provided 500 tree saplings of different species, which were planted at the stated locations. Some few well wishers and JDV members participate in the plantation drive. The JDV officials approached the authority heads to take care of the planted saplings and in the meantime ask them to give report of the survived plants to the JDV office on completion of one year. Meanwhile the JDV appreciated the NYKS Phek for providing opportunity to the club thereby paving way out to combat “Global warming”.
