‘No shifting of PHC Chetheba town’

Dimapur October 8 (MExN):
Two concerned citizens, identified as Kuzholuzo Nyekha and Muswizo Nyekha, expressed gratitude towards the Department of Health and Family Welfare for delivering justice based on the representation submitted by them to the Department Dated 8-06-11. The press note stated that the Department had constituted a committee and as per order NO DHFW-8/74/Phek/2002/pt/, Dated 1st September 2011, Kohima, the new construction of PHC Chetheba Town under Phek District, is to come up only at the original PHC Area, and that there will be no shifting of the construction to a new site, belonging to the Department of Sericulture.

2nd phase Measles campaign at Longeng district

Dimapur, October 8 (MExN):
The District Health Society Longleng, has conducted a Measles training to the Health workers at IDSP hall Longleng on October 4, 2011. The resource person was Dr.Konyan, Dy CMO, Dr Imtiwapang Aier, DIO, and Dr Tia Phom, MO Tamlu. Altogether, 44 Nurses and vaccinator from three Primary Health Centre and eight sub centre were trained for upcoming Measles campaign.

AZSU Cultural Exchange programme

Dimapur, October 8 (MExN):
The All Zeliangrong Students’ Union Assam, Manipur & Nagaland (AZSU AMN) organized a Cultural Exchange Programme on September 29 under the theme “Peace and Harmony through Culture”. The programme was sponsored by North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) at Cultural Institute Hall Halflong NC Hills Assam. The press release by Ilungbam, Finance Secretary, AZSU and Nchaheing, General Secretary, AZSU, stated that, the programme was graced by Kalijoy Sengyung EM I/C Cultural Haflong and Pauramduing Jeme Cultural Officer Haflong as chief guest and guest of honour respectively. It also added that cultural troupes from Zeliangrong, Hmar, Baite, Kuki, Khasi, Mizo Communities participated in the programme.

CSU flays Sept 19 kidnapping attempt

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 8 (MExN):
The Chakhesang Students’ Union had strongly condemned the kidnapping attempt of Shezota Lohe of Kutsapo village on  September 19 at Residency colony, Dimapur by some miscreants. Kewelhilo Rabvo General Secretary and Vejohi Venuh Social & Cultural Secretary in a press statement issued that the accused Nissan aka Muna and his gang claiming to be from NSCN (IM). The union cannot tolerate such heinous crime and urged the competent authority to arrest the remaining accused and award befitting punishment as per the law.

DDADU informs general public

Dimapur, October 8 (MExN):
In regard to lost and found cases, the Dimapur District Auto Rickshaw Drivers Union has informed all the general public travelling in autorickshaw to make sure of the vehicle registration no. DDADU president in a press release has ordered all autorickshaw drivers to check the auto after leaving every passenger on the spot and also to submit any goods or things left behind by the passengers in their respective auto should be submitted to the head office. If any driver is found violating this order will be penalized, the Union further added.

IGAR (N) pays tribute to ‘valiant martyrs’

KOHIMA, OCTOBER 8 (MExN):
IGAR (N) Maj Gen B S Das, SM today paid tribute to the “valiant martyrs” of World War II at the Kohima War Cemetery. This was the first visit to the Gen officer after assuming appointment as the IGAR (N). Terming the War Cemetery as an historical memorial site the General reiterated that the “valour and sacrifice of the martyrs should give us the encouragement and motivation to continue to follow the credo service before self to the nation”, Moreover, he also emphasized that the contribution of the valiant soldier should not be forgotten and the memorial should stand as a symbol of motivation and unity.

Measles campaign in Dimapur schools

Dimapur October 8 (MExN):
All the Government and Private Schools are informed that, there will be a measles check up campaign programme starting from October 10 for 3-4 weeks .The vaccination will be conducted in schools by the Department of Chief Medical Officer. All children aged between 9 Months to 10 Years are to be vaccinated regardless of their previous Vaccinations. Dimapur DEO Kitoli Naje has directed all the Heads of the Institutions to co-operate with the Officials for the success of the Campaign.

NCSU-Peren social work on Oct 10

Dimapur, October 8 (MExN):
All the members of NCSU-Peren district are informed to participate in the social work to be held between Peren and Jalukie Road on October 10 at 8:00 am. The Union in a press release appeals to all the concerned members to reach on time. The Union will provide lunch and meal.

Sao Chang Govt College executive election held

Dimapur, October 8 (MExN):
Sao Chang Government College Tuensang held its executive election for the session 2011- 2012 on September 22 at the college premises successfully. The following students are the elected office bearers: O. Nato Yimkong Chang as general secretary, Tangmong  Khiam as assistant general secretary, Achemti  Stm s games & sports secretary, Imlong Chaba Chang as social service secretary, Alemba Ao as cultural cum literary, C.Kaimang Chang as boys common room secretary, Liremla Stm as girls common room secretary and Throngsomong Chang as auditor.
