Power supply to resume at earliest in Phek
Dimapur, November 30 (MExN): Power supply to Phek district has been severely affected in the last few days. A press note issued by the Executive Engineer, Transmission Division, Kohima stated that this has been caused due to up gradation works being undertaken in 132/33KV Meluri Sub Station. “Due to some unforeseen problems, there has been delay in completing the work within the scheduled time. It is therefore to express regret for the inconvenience caused to our esteemed consumers and to inform that the work is in full swing for completion by November 30, 2011,” stated the note.

Kiphire DPDB celebrates pre-Christmas
Kiphire, November 30 (DIPR): The DPDB meeting of Kiphire district coinciding with pre-Christmas programme was held on November 30 at the residence of Deputy Commissioner Kiphire. Parliamentary Secretary for CAWD conveyed Christmas greeting to the people of Kiphire district and exhorted them to live peacefully. Re-iterating the slogan of DAN Government, ‘Peace for Development and Development for Peace’, he called upon the people to cooperate with the Government for development and to bring permanent peace in the State. Torechu appealed to the people to renew their mindset and to reconcile with Christ so that celebration of Christmas would have a deeper meaning. Project Director DRDA Thungjamo Khuvung spoke on the significance of Christmas while SDO (C) Athrila delivered the welcome address and vote of thanks was pronounced by CMO Dr. I. Sungit. The programme was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Kiphire. All head of offices, DBs & GBs and NGOs attended the function.
