NWHD seminar on elimination of violence

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 9 (MExN):
The Naga Women Hoho Dimapur has informed all the concerned citizens of Dimapur women folk, men folk, youths, social workers, religious leaders, GBs and students that Naga Women Hoho, Dimapur is organizing a one day seminar on Elimination of Violence against Women under the theme, “From Peace in the Home to Peace in the World” on December 10 at 10:00 am near City Tower (open). All have been requested to attend the Seminar.

ENPUK elects new team

Kohima, December 9 (MExN):
The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Union Kohima (ENPUK) has elected its new team of office bearers during the 8 general session for the term 2011-2014. The new team is led by President David Thingchem Sangtam, general secretary M. Thongo Khiamnungan and Legal advisor Ngamjok Konyak.

Grant-in-aid for govt recognized colleges

Kohima, December 9 (MExN):
Joint Director Higher education trough a press release has informed to all the government recognized colleges (both secular and Theological) that the directorate of higher education will be releasing the annual grant-in-aid for 2010-2012. The eligible colleges (those who have applied) are directed to collect the same from December 12 till 20 during the office hour.

LBC Golden Jubilee celebration underway

Dimapur, December 9 (MExN):
The Longdon Baptist Church, Noklak town will be celebrating Golden Jubilee from December 9 to 11 at church premises Noklak town. In a release Golden Jubilee Committee convener Simon , also said that with the peaceful atmosphere prevailing upon in Noklak town, people are eagerly waiting and several thousand from all walks of life expected to join in to celebrate the golden jubilee. He also informed that church representatives from India and around 130 churches with five representatives from each church from Myanmar are also joining the three-day Golden Jubilee celebration.

Longleng dealing assistances training held

Dimapur, December 9 (MExN):
As per the discussion made in the last DPDB meeting held on November 8 for imparting basic filing, official procedures and rules to the dealing assistances in all Longleng, district the same will be initiated by DC Longleng K Libanthung Lotha. The same was held on December 8 and 9 at PPC hall Longleng. As many as 56 dealing assistants including officers from 35 various departments and even private individuals attended the training. Renchamo Ovung, Retd. Additional Secretary to the Government of Nagaland was the trainer. This was informed in a press note issued by ADC Longleng Wati Aier.

MSU 38th annual session from Dec 16-18

Kohima, December 9 (MExN):
The Mukalimi Students’ Union (MSU) will organize its 38th Annual session from December 16-18 at Mukalimi under the theme “Endeavour Challenging Students in the 21st Century”. Inavi Swu, Deputy Director, Department of Agriculture will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest while Daniel, Pastor MBC and Tosheli Kiho, K/I Pbto will be the speaker. A press note released by its general secretary Hoboto Sumi has requested all its executives, advisors and students to reach the village before December 12.

YASB-YWCC to look into youth affairs

Dimapur, December 9 (MExN):
In regard to the achievement of YWCC’s tenureship on November 21, the advisors, ex-officials, senior members and concerned youth members of YWCC had a joint sitting on December  at the residence of YWCC ex-president, in order to discuss /formulate a plan to run the youth affairs under the guidelines of a board. The members present resolved to set up ‘Youth Affairs Supervisory Board-YWCC’ to look into the youth affairs before the set up/ election of new officials to the YWCC Executive Council. The members present also nominated the members of YWCC to the ‘Youth Affairs Supervisory Board-YWCC’: Omega G Naga – convenor; Sunep Ozukum – Secretary; members-Tokato G Sumi, Paul Vitsu; Amen; Hinoto Chishi and Tovi Phucho.
