‘Rickshaw Christmas Cake Race’ on Dec 21

Dimapur, December 10 (MExN): Citizens of Dimapur will be witnessing the first ever ‘Rickshaw Christmas Cake Race’ on December 21.
The event is organized by Robust Network who has done shows in the past, Naga Laughter Sensation and Dance Mania. The Director, Meren Subong in a press release said that this non-profit event is being organized purely to bring joy and laughter amongst the people of Dimapur. Under the theme “For the Spirit of Christmas’ Robust Network hopes to bring smiles to all the young and old people as Santa Claus will be appearing at the end of the race.
With entertainment guaranteed this 21st December, the general public are also requested to attend the function which will begin at 7:00 am sharp at the Clock Tower, Dimapur.

SDO PHED Medziphema informs on water crisis

Dimapur, December 10 (MExN): The Medziphema town and surrounding village denizens have been facing acute water crisis owing to deteriorating condition of supply pipes. Expressing regret over the inconveniences caused for the same, SDO, PHED (Medziphema) Imnazulu has requested the inhabitants of the area to bear with the difficulties and have an accommodating spirit, as the Department is going all the way out and trying its level best to solve the problem. The release further expressed optimism and informed that the proposed Integrated Water Supply Scheme (IWSS) for Medziphema town and surrounding villages which is in the pipeline would bring respite, once it is implemented.

RSU 64 years of servitude celebration from Dec 14

Dimapur, December 10 (MExN): Rengma Students Union (RSU) commemorating its 64 years of servitude is scheduled from December 14 to 16 at T. Zisunyu village hosting by Tseminyu Students union.
Minister Health & Family Welfare, Khuzoluzo Nienu and Parliamentary Secretary Horticulture R. Khing will grace the inaugural function on December 15 as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.  Vitsutho Nyuthe, general manager district industries centre Zunheboto and Z. Mesen Director Treasuries & Accounts will be the cultural guest and valedictory Guest on December 16.
A press release issued by RSU President, Kenneth Rengma stated that the RSU was first drafted at T. Zisunyu village in the year 1947 and it is once again the RSU is celebrating its 64 years of existence at its birth place remembering the zeal and vision that was installed into the union in its initial stage and which has sustained till date.
Hectic preparation for the general conference is underway where it is also coinciding with the 50 years Jubilee celebration of the T. Zisunyu Village Students Union. Delegates from western Rengma Karbi Anglong Assam will also take part in the 64 years student’s servitude celebration. The Organizing committee and RSU official has extended invitation to all Rengma officers, public leaders and Church leaders to attend the celebration. 

Seminar on women representation

Kohima, December 10 (MExN):
The North East Network is organizing a seminar on “Women representation in decision making process in Nagaland from December 14 to 15 Hotel Orchid, Kohima. The purpose of the seminar is to discuss issues of governance with a few panelists of repute, which includes Dr. Vrinda Grover, lawyer and human rights activities, New Delhi, Dr. Roshmi Goswami, UN women, Rosemary Dzuvichu, advisor NMA, Monalisa Changkija, editor Nagaland Page and Mayang, member secretary Nagaland Legal Services Authority. The key speaker will be Dr. Syeda Hameed, member planning commission of India and guest of honour will be Dr. Anita Agnihotri, National Commission for Women, New Delhi.
