Kohima, December 17 (MExN): The excise duty party at interstate check gate Khuzama detected and seized a total of 216 bottles if 750 IMFL from the possession of Sharimie of Chauri village. The arrest was made under the command of Manna Sumi I.E and he was booked for violation of Section 3 (i) of NLTP Act 1989.

Kohima, December 17 (MExN): The principal Khelhoshe Polythnic Atoizu has informed that winter vacation for students and faculty staff of the institution will begin from 15 December to 31 January as per the academic calendar. Semester admission for regular, repeaters and dis-collegiate (DC) candidates for the session February 2012 to June 2012 shall be held from February 2 to 15 during office hour. It added more that no cases of admission shall be entertained in any case thereafter.
KSUD aggrieved over domestic violence
Dimapur, December 17 (MExN): The Konyak Students’ Union Dimapur expressed that it is deeply aggrieved to take note of domestic violence meted out to innocent and poor Konyak boys and girls employed in Naga households by their masters and neighbors. Such shocking news became frequent and thus the union has resolved to take stern action against offenders in future. Therefore, Khamlem Konyak, Vice president of KSUD in a press release requested all the Konyak parents to refer their wards coming to Dimapur or Kohima for higher studies to Konyak Students’ Union offices of respective areas for better guidance and co-operation, for identification and prompt action in the event of emergency, the incoming Konyak Students young workers must submit their full bio-data with a photocopy attached on it.
Phenshunyu-Phiro Peace Treaty meeting
Kohima, December 17 (MExN): The Phenshunyu-Phiro Peace Treaty Committee members, sub- committee members and all the mission project committee members will have a meeting at the Lotha Baptist Church Town Sector Church Building Keziekie Kohima (near Metie Baptist Church) on December 21 at 10 am. A press release issued by the convener, organizing committee Zabemo Lotha IPS (Rtd) and Secretary K. Peter Himb has requested all the members to attend the meeting without fail.
SE notifies DEOs to open saving account
Kohima, December 17 (MExN): Principal-Director School Education, Bendang Kokba, IAS has informed all the DEOs are directed to open a Saving Account under the name if the pre-matric scholarship for minority students at SBI in their respective district Head Quarter for smooth transaction of pre-matric scholarship for minority students. The press release requested the DEOs to report to the Directorate of School Education between December 20 to 22 and collect the list of student beneficiaries and submit the Account number for necessary payment. Furthermore the students are also informed to come and check their names in the list and receive payments with his/her school identity card from the office of the concerned DEO.
