PSU 52nd annual general session today

Dimapur, December 27 (MExN):
The 52nd Pongching Students Union (PSU) annual general session is to be held on December 28 at its treasury from 9:00 AM. In this regard all its members are asked to attend the meeting without fail. Absentees will be dealt strictly as per the rules of the union informed a press release issued by PSU, President, Namsung Phom.

KASU meeting on Dec 29

Dimapur, December 27 (MExN):
A meeting of Khaghaboto Area Students’ Union (KASU) general conference organizing committee members has been convened on December 29 at 9:00 a.m. at union banker, Khaghaboto.

CSDD urges on hand/homemade medicines

Dimapur, December 27 (MExN):
Consumer Society Dimapur District (CSDD) has urged the district administration to strictly enforce ban on unauthorized roadside selling of so-called hand/homemade medicines and those roaming around the city for cleaning ear thereby cheating innocent citizens. Selling of such unauthorized medicines could have harmful effects on the unwary people who are lured by quack medicine men, the society stated.

CSU to host events

Dimapur, December 27 (MExN):
The Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) will be hosting the 65th general conference at Lolaphuhu Village coinciding with Lozaphuhu Students’ Union (LSU) golden jubilee from January 17 to 19, 2013. The Union has informed in a press release that Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister, Nagaland will be the chief guest; Chotisuh Sazo Parliamentary Secretary, Social Welfare and Women Development, Nagaland as the introductory guest; Deo Nukhu, Advisor, Art & Culture, NRE, Science & Technology, Nagaland as the valedictory guest while Kuzholuzo Nienu will grace the LSU golden jubilee and Yitachu will be the cultural guest. The Union has invited all the frontal organization, gazetted, senior leaders, Former CSU officials and invitees to grace the occasion.

DC Kohima bans bursting of crackers

Kohima, December 27 (DIPR):
Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Bei-u Angami has banned bursting of crackers during the festive season at Kohima. All Ward Chairmen and GBs have been asked to note the order for necessary action.

DDPODU meeting cum picnic on Dec 30

Dimapur, December 27 (MExN):
The Dimapur District Pick-Up Van Owners & Drivers Union (DDPODU) has informed all the members that there will be annual general meeting cum picnic on December 30 at around 9:00 am at Cheti River, 2 ½ Mile Dimapur. DDPODU joint secretary Akaho Awomi in a press note has requested all the members of the Union to attend the programme without fail.

CTSU cleanliness drive

Dimapur, December 27 (MExN): The Chukitong Town Students Union (CTSU) held a cleanliness drive in and around the NH-61 within its jurisdiction on December 24 with a motive to keep the town clean during the Christmas and New Year season. The union further urged the public of the area to uphold and cultivate a spirit of maintaining hygienic environment through cleanliness. The Union has appreciated the presence of N. Ejanthung Ngullie, General Secretary NSF on the occasion.

KVK Dimapur conducts training on mushroom

Dimapur, December 27 (MExN): One day training cum demonstration programme on mushroom cultivation was organized by KVK, Dimapur under NICRA Project at Dhansiripar village.
A press note received here informed that Z. James Kikon (SMS, Soil Science) spoke on the importance of mushroom cultivation for additional income generation in the event of drought like situation. He also highlighted on the nutritional and medicinal values of mushroom as very few are aware of it. He encouraged the individual farmer and SHGs to take up mushroom cultivation as a business venture as it is easy, low cost and gives higher profit.
Butin Kachari (Supporting Staff) demonstrated the steps involve in mushroom cultivation. Awareness campaign on ornamental fish cultivation was also disseminated to the farmers by N. Subenthung Odyuo, Programme Manager (OFD), North East Region, The Marine Products Export Development Authority (Ministry of commerce and Industry, Government of India).

YAA 46th general conference from Jan 10

Dimapur, December 27 (MExN):
46th Yimchungrü Akherü Arihako (YAA) general conference will be held from January 10 to 13, 2012 at Penkim Village in Kiphire district under the theme, “Challenges of youth today”.
YAA Press & Information Secretary K. David in a press release informed that Imkong L. Imchen, Minister for Home and S. Heno, Parliamentary Secretary for Fisheries, Printing & Stationeries and Relief & Rehabilitation have consented to grace the inaugural and valedictory functions as Chief Guests respectively where Toshi Wungtung Secretary, Steering Committee of ENPO will be the  Speaker of the conference.
T. Torechu, Parliamentary Secretary for CAWD, R. Tohanba, S. Battacharyya Director, NEC Energy Pvt. Ltd and M. Akang, District Statistical Officer, Kiphire will be the guests of honour for different functions. The YAA has invited all the former office bearers, officials of YTC, YWO, WYH, YBBA and well wishers besides delegates from every Yimchunger villages. 
 

Midland GB warn miscreants

Dimapur, December 27 (MExN): GBs of Midland Colony, Dimapur have alleged that unidentified miscreants, under the cover of night, have been damaging Christmas decorations and lights displayed at shops, public places and even at private residence within the colony jurisdiction.
Strictly warning those responsible for the action, Khehuto Zhimomi, GB Midland stated that it was an act of insult to Christianity and Midland Colony in particular and therefore the authority of the colony would not tolerate such offence being committed by miscreants during the night apparently under the influence of alcohol. Khehuto said a sum of Rs. 50,000 would be imposed on anyone caught damaging Christmas decoration within the colony jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, GB Khehuto has thanked the Helpers’ Club Dimapur for decorating and lighting up the DNSU Jubilee memorial near PWD Office.
