KSU on “Change of Guard”

Kohima, February 7 (MExN):
Kyong Students’ Union (KSU), outgoing general secretary, Mhabemo Mozui through a press release has informed that “Change of Guard” programme will be held on February 8 at its office chamber at 2.00pm. All the outgoing executives and the newly elected members are requested to attend the programme positively, added the press note.

Meeting of civil societies on Feb 8

Mokokchung, February 7 (DIPR):
With Second Phase of Census commences from February 9, a meeting of civil societies has been convened for interaction with the community Monitors at Mokokchung town Hall on February 8 at 11 am. NGOs, Public Leaders, Village councils, all Ward Chairmen of Mokokchung town are informed to attend the meeting positively. Besides Administrator, MMC, Officials of Ao Seden, Watsu Mungdang, AKM are also informed to attend the meeting.

PGST Board (2010) notifies

Dimapur, February 7 (MExN):
The NPSC selected PGST candidates of 2010 will undergo Medical/Physical Fitness Test on February 9. Therefore, all concerned are requested to reach the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima at 9:00 am sharp. For further information, contact at 9206138788/9436606317. ANSTA extends best wishes

Kohima, February 7 (MExN):
The All Nagaland School Teachers Association (ANSTA) extends its very best wishes to all the examinees of the ensuing HSLC and HSSLC examinations. The Association also urged to all the examinees to abide by all the examinations rules and regulations set by the Board and to abstain from adopting any form of unfair means as it invites severe punishment. It also exhorts the examinees to give their level best and to earn a good name for themselves and their schools. Further the association also appealed to all the teachers to perform their assigned examination duties with dedication and ensure that examinations are conducted successfully. This was made know through a press release issued by its president Ponchulo Wanth and general secretary L. Asang.

Border Trade Rest House inaugurated

Kohima, February 7 (MExN):
Director of Industry & Commerce, Er. G. Keppen Rengma inaugurated Border Trade Rest House at Reguri village on February 3 at Reguri village. President Reguri Students’ Union, Rutsomu Pfithu in a press release said the chief guest who was accompanied by 13 staffs from the department, has marked an epoch in the history of Reguri by such huge dignitaries visiting the village also whose purpose is to promote trade relationship between the Nagas and the Myanmar. Reguri is said to be a village where Myanmar people visits daily for trade and is also a place that Molhe people passes by.

CTC notifies

Dimapur, February 7 (MExN):
The Chumukedima Town Council (CTC) has notified that to all concerned that prior permission for construction of any building, boundary wall, pillar etc should be obtained from the authority concerned of the Chumukedima Town Council. CTC chief advisor Thepfulhoutuo Shuya in a notification added that dumping or storing of any building materials on the road sides either Nation Highway or town approach roads are strictly prohibited. The same are causing great inconvenience as well as endangering public lives. Defaulter (s) will be strictly dealt with as per provision of the law, the CTC added.

DEO Kohima informs

Kohima, February 7 (MExN):
District Education officer, Kohima issued general information to all principal/ headmasters of GHSSs and GHSs to collect free text books for elementary section from the office of the DEO, Kohima during the office hour with effect from February 11 onwards. DEO, Zaveyi Nyekha through press release has also informed that all head teachers of GMS and Teachers in-charge pf GPSs under Kohima district to collect free text books from their respective DISs offices during office hour with immediate effect. The press note added to treat this information on top priority.

DNSU appeal to Power dept

Dimapur, February 7 (MExN):
The office of the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has urged the power department to supply un-interrupted power supply during the course of Examination so as not to hamper the study schedule of the students’. DNSU president, Medovoi Medeo in a press note has conveyed best wishes to all the students’ who will be appearing the forthcoming Examination’s of HSLC/HSSLC and degree courses. The Union while expressing its wishes urged the student community to desist from practicing any unfair means during the course of examination.

NMA appeals for unbiased information

Kohima, February 7 (MExN):
Naga Mothers Association (NMA) has appealed to the people of Nagaland to provide accurate and unbiased information during phase II population Enumeration 2011 in a true Christian spirit. The association also seeks the kind co-operation of the census operators in every district to ensure that correct and vital information on gender, work and disability to cover in a proper manner in phase 11. A press note issued by president NMA, Abei-u Meru, urged the district administration to be firm in their stand for what is right and correct as it is vital for the smooth functioning of this great nation building exercise.

VEC day on February 17

Kohima, February 7 (MExN):
The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), District Mission Authority, Phek is all set to observe Village Education Committee (VEC) Day under the theme “Celebrating communitisation,” on February 17 at 10:30 AM onwards at Phek Town hall. Minister for health & family welfare Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu will be the quest speaker while exhortation will be given by Mikha Lomi, Deputy Commissioner Phek and chairman, District Mission Authority, SSA Phek. The programme will be marked by power point presentation by DMA and recognition of ‘Best performing’ Village Education Committees. All VEC chairman and member secretary in the district have been asked to compulsorily attend the programme. Transportation and lunch will be provided by the DMA, a release received here said today.
