CSU request for restricted holiday
Dimapur, February 23 (MExN): The Chumukedima Students’ Union (CSU) has requested the concern authority of educational institutes for one (1) day restricted holiday for the Angami students, teachers and non-teaching staff on February 25 on account of Sekrenyi festival which is the most important festival of the Angamis. This was informed by CSU president Pelesavi in a press note.
YUD informs on registration
Dimapur, February 23 (MExN): The Yimchunrü Union Dimapur (YUD) has notified all general public that any person male, female as domestic worker/helper, adoption, relatives, private drivers, residing with some family other than the parent for seeking education etc belonging to Yimchunger community should contact the union office for registration. YUD vice president Rhakho Janger in the notification stated that the guardian or foster parent of the mentioned are required producing two copies of recent passport photograph and the proper corresponding address with contact numbers. “This notification should be considered as prior importance for both the parties mentioned above, failing which the Union will be constraint to take stern action,” the notification stated. DMC warns on illegal use of LPG
Dimapur, February 23 (MExN): Inspite repeated notices and directives it has been observed that many owners of hotels, restaurants, hostels, vehicles and other commercial agencies are still in practice of using LPG cylinders of domestic use which is illegal and against the norms. In this connection, DMC chief Executive Officer Nikhashe Sema in a press release has once again directed all the concern owners to stop such practices. “Any one found violating this order shall be penalized at the time of inspecting as per the provision of the law,” the CEO added.
‘Maha Shiv Ratri Festival’
Dimapur, February 23 (MExN): The Shiv Mandir Rangapahar, Singrijan Dimapur will be celebrating ‘Maha Shiv Ratri Festival’ on March 2. The Shiv Mandir Committee through a press release has welcomed all devotees for ‘darshan’ and puja of Lord Shiva. However, the Committee has banned all kinds of alcohol as well as fish, meat and eggs for peaceful celebration of the mahautsav.
ZSUN presidential council meet
Kohima, February 23 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) informed all the executives and federal units that the Union will be holding its 4th presidential council meeting on February 25 at 1:00 PM at Town Hall, Jalukie, Peren District. All president and secretary of federal unit and subordinate bodies, senior leaders, tribunals ZSUN, Zeliangrong Frontal Organization and public leaders have been requested to attend the said presidential council meeting.
PSU to discuss job reservation
Kohima, February 23 (MExN); The Pochury Students’ Union (PSU) will hold an emergency meeting on February 25 at 10:00 AM at Pochury Hoho Kohima building with all the NGOs leaders, unit representatives and senior citizens of Pochury to discuss the issue on job reservation policy.All the concerned citizen has been asked to attend the said meeting without fail. PSU president Vikuolie Janry said the union will take its own course of action against those failing to attend the said meeting.
Govt servants directed
Kohima, February 23 (DIPR): The Deputy Commissioner & Principal Census Officer Phek, Mikha Lomi has informed to all the government servants serving under Phek district to register their names in the ongoing census enumeration at their place of posting. Stating that many government servants posted in the district are being found out of station making it difficult for enrolling their names in the census enumeration, the DC directed all government servants to reach their place of posting on or before February 26. The Deputy Commissioner & Principal Census Officer, Phek, Mikha Lomi is also visiting Meluri sub-division on February 23 to inspect the ongoing census works. During his visit, he will have interaction with the Census Charge Officers, Master Trainers, Supervisor, Enumerators and village functionaries. He will also check the enumeration list and visit some household as part of his inspection tour.

Dimapur, February 23 (MExN): The families of the students and working persons, of Eastern Nagaland, residing in Delhi is requested to inform the Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union Delhi (ENSUD) of the residence of their children or relatives in Delhi with regard to the gathering details of Nagas in National Capital Region for database formation by the Government of India. ENSUD President Puhan Khiam in “an urgent notification” to the families stated that a cell has been set up in Nagaland House to provide necessary and immediate assistance during an emergency. For the effective functioning of this cell, a comprehensive database is necessary with information on each individual student and working person from Nagaland based in National Capital Region. As the Union is unaware of the presence of all the students and employees in Delhi, the family is requested to give the details of the residence of their children or relatives so that any emergency would be dealt promptly.
