NSF to debate ‘Nagas are economically stable’

Kohima, April 20 (MExN):
The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has set aside “Nagas are economically stable” as topic for debating hour during its 24th general conference scheduled at Pfutsero in Phek district from April 27. Advocate Joshua Sheqi will host the debate hour while greetings will be shared by Naga Mother’s Association and Naga People’s Movement for Human Rights. The participants from treasury bench will consist of Ao, Kyong, Moyong, Mao, Lamkang, Chakhesang, Tangkhul, Pochury, ANCSU, DNSU and ANSAM while the opposition bench will include; Zeliangrong, Anal, Rengma, Maring, Sumi, Maram, Angami, Poumai, Monsang, PGSU (NU) and DNSU (Diphupar). Jury board for debate includes; Neichute Duolo, co-coordinator, Entrepreneur Associates, Narola Chuba, lecturer, NU and Dr. Kevi Rio, PGT, GHSS Kohima.

PPVC general meeting on April 21

Dimapur, April 20 (MExN):
The Padum Pukhuri Village Council (PPVC) on April 18 had a consultative meeting and decided that there will be a general public meeting on April 21 at 9:00 am at Council hall. The Council chairman, Vitoka Katty in a press release has informed that the meeting will discuss regarding development and welfare of the general public and therefore, all concerned public are requested to attend the meeting without fail.

1st report on Census – 2011 released

Kohima, April 20 (DIPR):
The 1st report on Census – 2011, the Provisional Population Totals (PPT) –Paper 1 of 2011 published by the Director of Census Operations, Nagaland was released by His Excellency Governor of Nagaland, Nikhil Kumar on April 8, 2011 at the Heritage, Old DC Bungalow, Kohima in a function where the Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries, MLAs, Chief Secretary, Chief Information Commissioner and several Senior Officers from Central and State Governments attended the function. The publication contains the Population figures of all the Districts. The publication is priced at rupees 330 and available on sale at the Directorate of Census Operations, Bayavu Hill, Kohima and M/S Western Book Depot, Main Town (Near United Traders), Kohima.
