Kiphire census staff appeals for release of salary

Dimapur, May 30 (MExN):
The census staff Kiphire district has appealled to the concerned authorities to release the salary as it is due for six month now. A press note issued by the census staff Kiphire district also mentioned that though the appointment is from April 2009, but salary was distributed only in the month of December for April to October 2009 after which the staffs did not receive their salary. “The delay in salary makes us to undergo untold suffering as we are the bread earner of the family. So we appeal the concern authority to kindly release the salaries at the earliest,” further requested Census staff Kiphire, district.

NWVA general meeting on June 2

Dimapur, May 30 (MExN):
The Nagaland Women Voluntary Association general meeting will be June 2 at 11:00 am in the conference hall of working women’s hostel, Sanuorü. NWVA general secretary in a pres release has requested al the members to attend the meeting.

Communitization of VEMB conducted

Mon, May 30 (DIPR): One day Capacity Building & Training on Communitization of Village Electricity Management Board (VEMB) was held at council hall, Mon on May 19 with G. Paniker, SDO (E), Mon and N. Manep Anghaa, JE (E), Mon as the resource persons.
In his keynote address, Er S.K. Gupta, S.E. (Elect), Mokokchung Division spoke on the need of empowerment of VEMB for effective implementation of communitization programme at the grass root level. He emphasized on the importance of communitization programme of the Government and its benefit if it is implemented judiciously and effectively and urged upon the gathering VEMB to work harder to implement the programme for the benefit of the mass. He also urged to extend full cooperation and support to the officers and staffs of power department. He further urged the VEMB to maintain transparency and accountability while collecting and depositing revenue regularly.
Chairman VEMB of Goching village, C. Chingkam Konyak shared his experiences and the benefit of Communitization of VEMB in his village. The resource persons stressed on various aspects of communitization of VEMB and had a healthy interaction with the VEMB. 150 VEMB from 51 communitized villages attended the programme.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Er. T.L. Sangtam, EE (E), Mon while vote of thanks and invocation was proposed by Manep Anghaa JE (E), Mon and District Chaplain, Rev. J. Tenwang, respectively. The function was chaired by G. Panicker, SDO (E), Mon.    

YAN notifies on land mortgage

Dimapur, May 30 (MExN):
The Youth Association of Nagaland (YAN) would like to inform to all the concern that, the Association held an emergency meeting of all the members at its office on May 28, 2011. A press note issued by Athrongba Sangtam, spokesperson YAN informed that the members present unanimously decide to adhere to the standing resolution adopted earlier, regarding J.K Mech and John Mech in connection to the land mortgage of the Mech estate at Nagarjan, Dimapur. Therefore, the YAN through the note notify to all the individuals or organization not to involve in the above mentioned case. And incase, any parties involving in this issue will be doing so at their own risk and the Association shall be compelled to take its own course of action.
The Association further notifies J.K Mech and John Mech to appear before the office of the YAN before June 5, 2011 for an amicable settlement failing which they shall have no right over the said land.
