Tseminyu, August 30 (MExN): Prime Minister’s overarching scheme for holistic nourishment called Poshan Abhiyaan was inaugurated and Poshan Mela was declared open at Town Hall Tseminyu by Nokchasashi Kichu, ADC Tseminyu as guest of honour.
A DIPR report stated that the Mela organised by the Department of Social Welfare in collaboration with line departments on August 30 saw the participation of Anganwadi Workers, Self Help Groups with their local produces.
On the occasion, ADC Nokchasashi expressed his appreciations towards cash crop farmers, especially vegetables and fruits producers and encouraged them to continue their farming in extensive manner. Later, ADC visited the organic vegetable mela put up by various SHG at Town Hall.
CDPO Kohima (Tribal), James Ezung delivered speech on Poshan Abhiyaan-IEC & Advocacy, and spoke about complementary feeding to be maintained accordingly, in which CDPO also mentioned the two types of malnutrition that causes health problems. CDPO therefore asked the participants to understand the manner of proper nutrition to build up the health of children.
