Longleng, September 6 (DIPR): The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting of Longleng was held on September 6 at DC’s conference hall here.
Deputy Commissioner, Y. Denngan Avennoho Phom, who chaired the programme, appealed for cooperation and urged members to maintain cordial relationship to carry out the tasks in the district. On the forthcoming general election, he informed that all the members will be assigned duties and therefore asked the officers to be present in their place of posting.
Vice President, Phom Peoples’ Council (PPC) reminded officers to be in their place of posting to address the grievances and problems of the people. He thanked the officers for their contribution and support in the renovation of Longleng-Changtongya road. He further advised the officer in-charges to initiate steps for construction of security fencing in their respective offices to avoid encroachment.
On the utilization of money donated by the Parliamentary Secretary, RD, Pangnyu Phom, during Independence Day celebration, PPC informed of its resolution to utilize the same for the Drivers’ Union, PPC and District Administration. DC urged the PPC to utilize that money judiciously for the development of the district and asked the parties concerned to submit their report on execution of the works and its expenditure.
Meanwhile, ADC, Longleng reminded the departments which are yet to submit their contribution for repair of roads to submit the same to the SDO (C), Longleng at the earliest.
EE, PHED, Longleng, Er. Benjongtoshi submitted a proposal along with DPR for supply of water to Longleng headquarters. He suggested forwarding the project to DoNER through the Planning Department for early implementation. The board as suggested decided to recommend and forward the same to DoNER through the Planning Department.
The board also approved and recommended the proposal for establishment of Higher Secondary Science and Commerce at Bautung Memorial Higher Secondary School, Longleng and registration and recognition of Mount Sinai School at Hukphang village.
DAO, Longleng, Dr. D.K. Chetri apprising the members of the harmful effects of pesticide and other chemical fertilizers, called for creating awareness on the same matter. Supplementing DAO, CMO, Longleng, Dr. Ritu also informed that the Medical Department has banned DDT powder due to its misuse by the public.
ADC, Tamlu, T. Renabemo Odyuo reported of the landslides and road blockages under his jurisdiction due to incessant rain during the monsoon. Informing that the same has been reported to the DC and EE, PWD (RB), he requested the department concerned to clear the roads at the earliest.
