Longleng hosts district-level training for Census 2027

Longleng, April 19 (MExN): A three-day district-level training programme for the first phase of Census of India 2027 was held from April 16 to 18 in Longleng, a DIPR update said.

The programme began with a welcome address by Deputy Commissioner W Manpai Phom, who emphasised the importance of accurate data collection and coordinated efforts for the smooth conduct of the census.

The training was attended by the Principal Census Officer, District Census Officer, and all charge officers along with their staff.

Sessions covered key aspects such as census procedures, legal provisions and the roles of functionaries, along with training on the Census Management and Monitoring System (CMMS).

Participants also received hands-on training in house listing and housing (HLB) carving, layout map preparation, use of mobile applications and data verification processes.

Emphasis was laid on data ethics, privacy and security, as well as addressing field-level challenges to ensure quality and reliability of data.

The programme concluded with a valedictory session and a vote of thanks by Imkongnukla Ao, EAC, acknowledging the contributions of officials and participants.
