Longleng registers first COVID-19 cases, Nagaland’s tally at 896

The COVID-19 infection spread further across the districts in Nagaland with Longleng recording its first two cases on July 14.


With this, 10 out of 11 districts in Nagaland now have confirmed cases of COVID-19. Only Kiphire district is yet to register any case so far. 


Overall, the State registered another 51 fresh cases Tuesday taking the total tally to 896. 


“33 new +ve cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed. 24 in Kohima, 3 in Dimapur, 2 each in Peren & Longleng and 1 each in Mokokchung & Zunheboto,” updated Nagaland Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom on Twitter in the morning. 

 

At 3:20 pm, he updated again that 18 more positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed.
"All cases are from Peren," the Minister added.  
 


With this, the total case status as of 3:20 PM, July 14 stood at: Positive: 896; Active: 556; and Recovered: 340.


Nagaland recorded the highest single day spike of positive cases with 71 more persons testing positive on July 13, taking the number of active cases above the 500-mark to 505.


However, with addition of 51, the active cases have increased to 556 while the rest 340 are officially designated as recovered. 


There are no COVID related deaths in the State so far.
