Longleng, March 17 (MExN): A one-day training on the Elimination of Vertical Transmission of HIV and Syphilis (EVTHS) was conducted at the CMO Conference Hall, Longleng, on March 13 to strengthen the capacity of Community Health Officers (CHOs) in preventing mother-to-child transmission.
The initiative aims to strengthen healthcare delivery and support efforts to eliminate vertical transmission of HIV and syphilis in the district, according to the Chief Medical Officer, Longleng.
Delivering the welcome address, Dr Imtijungshi Aier, DPO (RMNCAH+N), introduced the EVTHS programme and outlined its key components and services.
Technical sessions covered EVTHS interventions by Dr Temsusashi, DTO, and issues of stigma and discrimination by Lithei, DSRC Counsellor, District Hospital Longleng. A hands-on demonstration of HIV test kits was also conducted by Ayep, Lab Technician (MMU).
The programme featured interactive discussions, allowing participants to share insights and clarify doubts.
The training concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Imtijungshi Aier, acknowledging facilitators and participants.
