WOKHA, FEBRUARY 18 (MExN): No resolution appears to have been reached regarding the ongoing impasse between the Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) and the contractors/firms. As a result, the Lotha Hoho, which was tasked with resolving the issue, has instead reaffirmed the resolution made in Mokokchung on January 16.
The minutes of the Lotha Hoho meetings and the resolutions of February 12 and 14, which were shared with the media, indicated that during its meeting on February 12 at the Lotha Hoho conference hall, the organization resolved to stand firm with the resolution of January 16, where it was also a signatory.
On February 13, a delegation from the Lotha Hoho met MLA Achumbemo Kikon in Kohima and urged him to intervene. However, after a lengthy discussion, the negotiation ended without a resolution.
Subsequently, the Lotha Hoho convened a follow-up meeting on February 14 and reaffirmed the earlier resolution that the unsigned firms/contractors need to comply with the terms and conditions of the NFHRCC or else will not be allowed to execute the contract work till the impasse is settled.
In case of execution of work by the unsigned contractor(s), the responsibility for any consequences will fall on the concerned contractors/firms and the NFHRCC may take appropriate action as deemed necessary.
