Shanen FC entered the 33rd Loyem Memorial Trophy final with a record 21-0 win over United Comets FC in the first semi-final on November 10.

Captain Ayenmongba led the scoring with 15 goals in what is being described as one of the most dominant individual performances in the tournament’s history. He had scored nine goals in the league stage, taking his total to 24 in this edition of the Loyem Trophy.

Nisede Peseyie scored twice, while Namang Yemjong, Ghuqhe Chishi, Longkhoi K., and Henry Kamei added one goal each for Shanen. The team controlled the match from start to finish, leaving Comets with no answer to their pace and finishing.

Shanen have been in strong form throughout the tournament, including a 12-0 win against Legit FC in the league stage. Monday’s result further underlined their attacking depth and consistency.

United Comets, who reached the semi-final after a competitive group campaign, struggled to contain Shanen’s attack.

Shanen will now wait to face the winner of the second semi-final between SP XI and Khiamniungan Sports Council (KSC) scheduled for Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. SP XI topped Group B with a strong goal record, while KSC have built their run on defensive discipline and narrow wins.
