Mokokchung, August 24 (DIPR): Remembering the sacrifice made by Late Dr. Imkongliba Ao, a special programme was held on August 24 at Town Hall, Mokokchung on his 50th Death Anniversary organized by district administration and medical fraternity, Mokokchung.
On the occasion, Dr. S. C. Jamir, former Governor of Goa and Maharashtra, described Lt. Dr. Imkongliba as a man of high integrity and values with a far-sighted vision to unite all Naga brethren in finding a practical solution during the turmoil time in our Naga history. He also added that going back 50 years down our Naga political struggle our leaders with their selfless sacrifices planted a seed in the form of Naga People Convention (NPC), which is a people movement to achieve our political aspiration, but he lamented that today our society is going through a phase where corruption eroded every aspect of life. We are enjoying the fruit forgetting the root, he further added.
Later, the family members of Lt. Dr. Imkongliba mentioned the gratefulness towards the District Administration and Medical Fraternity, Mokokchung for their generous efforts and contribution in organizing the program.
