The Act of Kindness (AoK) in collaboration with North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) is organizing ‘Magnum Opus IV’, a mega art and music festival on October 24 and 25 at Urban Haat, Walford Dimapur.
“It is an event to enable local artiste and art lovers to coalesce and interact, learn and grow together,” the organizers stated during a press conference today at IMC Hall, Dimapur. The event is also coinciding with the annual International Artist Day on October 25.
Demonstrations, workshops and competitions on a plethora of art forms alike previous years will be organized. Story writing and workshop on folk story, fiction and short story writing is an added feature of this year’s edition besides music, poetry, fine arts, photography and cosplay show.
The ticketed event will charge a minimal entry fee while registration for participation will be charged separately. The event organized since 2015 has converged growing response and participation, the organizers informed.
A core member of the AoK also informed that 29 stalls will be put up for the two-day event. However, he added that stalls will be put up on an ‘invited basis’ keeping in mind the need to converge and promote diversity of art and local entrepreneurs.
Other highlights of the event will include craft exhibition and sale, live demonstration of local indigenous crafts, workshops on writing, basic photography by Photography Club, Dimapur etc.
Live Performance Contest (Only Original) with audio/video recording sponsored by Richa Production carries Rs 10,000 cash prize. Prize money for cosplay-best costume and best cosplayer carries Rs 10,000 each. Registration fee for stalls are Rs 1500. poetry, short story and art competitions also carry cash prizes and gifts hampers.
The resource persons will be Robin Ngangom, Poet, Manipur; Dr Srutimala Duara, writer, Academician, media person; Amanda Bashisha Basaiawnoit, founder, Shillong Literary Coterie; Lalnunsanga Ralte, Research Scholar; Mitra Phukan, Columnist, writer; Dr Lanusangla, Heritage Publishing House and Buddhi Thapa, acclaimed artist.
