Maj Gen B S Das takes command as IGAR (N)

Dimapur, September 24 (MExN): Maj Gen B S Das, SM has assumed command as the Inspector General Assam Rifles (North)on September 23.
He was commissioned into the 8th Battalion of the Kumaon Regiment after completing his training at the prestigious Indian Military Academy.  He has served in various parts of the country and held prestigious command, instructional and staff appointments.  General officer has served in areas ranging from Line of Control in J&K to insurgency in Manipur and Tirap and Changlang.  He commanded elite Mountain Brigade deployed on the Line of Control.  Prior to being posted as Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), he was tenting the appointment of Brigade General Staff (IS&T) in the Northern Sector.
On assuming the command the General officer conveyed that the relationship between the Assam Rifles and the civil society at large in the state of Nagaland has been extremely cordial and it would be his sincere and constant endeavor to strengthen the same.  
He expresses his deep respect for the Naga society and conveys his best wishes to all and hopes to see further progress by the state in all spheres and would work towards ushering in peace and tranquility to this wonderful land of festivals.
