Major fire averted at Landmark colony

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 30 (MExN): A major fire was averted Friday evening at Landmark (formerly PWD) colony. The fire which started at around 7:00 pm, near PWD Children’s Park burned down one storehouse and a makeshift kitchen built atop an under-construction RCC house.

The fire is said to have started at a storehouse built alongside a residential RCC structure. The cause of the fire  is yet to be ascertained. One LPG cylinder exploded. A kitchen next door built atop an under-construction building also caught fire.

However, the fire was brought under control and doused by around 8:00 pm. Two fire trucks were put into service. Firemen were still ascertaining the damage caused till the time of filing this report. No injury to life was reported.
