Mangkolemba, November 25 (MExN): The Mangkolemba Ao Youth Organization (MALT) repaired the Mangkolemba-Longnak road on November 23. The 11-kilometer road which connects Mangkolemba town and most of the surrounding villages to the Mariani-Mokokchung road (NH 702D) is the life-line road for the area people, stated a press release from MALT President I. Tia Jamir and Gen. Secretary Sentimeren Imchen.
Around 250 members from MALT and volunteers from the 9 wards, church, town council, coal miners’ union of Mangkolemba and Changki and individuals took part in clearing clogged drains and filled up the potholes with stones and soil. Several automobile owners donated their vehicles for transportation purposes.
The MALT has extended gratitude to all the organizations and individuals for providing vehicles and machineries, monetary and manpower for the repairing work. The organization has further appealed the state government and concerned department to blacktop the road at the earliest.
