Man abducted in broad daylight in Manipur

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 27 (MExN): It has been one week since K. T. Joseph of Rosofii, Purul village was abducted by unidentified miscreants from Lamphel, Imphal in Manipur while he was dropping his daughter to school.
The United Naga Council has condemned the abduction of Joesph. This crime committed in the heart of Imphal city and in broad daylight reflects the lawlessness that is ruling the society, stated a press note issued by the Publicity Wing UNC. The UNC has strongly urged the concerned authorities to spare no effort to rescue Joseph and award befitting punishment to the perpetrators who have no place in society. “We join the family and dear ones of Mr Joseph in our prayers for his safe and early return from the hands of the captors,” it stated.
Orgs condemn, appeals for safe release
Meanwhile, the Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA) has also requested for the safe release of KT Joseph. LR John, President of SDSA in a press note appealed to those responsible organization/individual to consider the matter on humanitarian ground.
The SDSA stated that it has been exactly a week since his abduction and the family members are extremely concerned about the well being of KT Joseph. While condemning such acts of kidnapping or forceful detention of any innocent lives, the SDSA stated it is not justifiable for achieving one’s end.
The SDSA further stated that that it is best interest of the students’ community in the district that the victim should be release unconditionally and such unfortunate situation do not occur again during the coming of festive months. Such cases during this time, has created huge fear for innocent lives especially the security of the student’s community, it added.
