A 31-year-old man was found dead at a stone quarry in Longsa village area under Wokha district on Friday, police said. The deceased has been identified as Nzanthung Enny of Humtso village, they said.
Wokha Superintendent of Police T Relo Aye said burn marks were visible on the victim’s face, body and leg. Preliminary inquiry suggested that he came into contact with a live electric wire, the officer said.
Police received information about the incident at around 11:15 AM, following which a team was dispatched to the site. The victim was declared dead on the spot. The SP said the family declined a post-mortem examination. The body was later handed over to them for the last rites.
