Massive preparations are on for upcoming 52nd Angami Sports Association (ASA) Wrestling Meet 2024, scheduled for March 16 at Khuochiezie (Kohima Local Ground).

The inaugural ceremony will start from 9: 00 AM onwards with Nagaland’s Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio as the chief guest and MLA Dr. Tseilhoutuo (Ato) Rhütso as the guest of honor.

The champion will fetch a cash prize of Rs. 2.50 lakh while second, third, and fourth position holders will be awarded with Rs. 1. 70 lakh, Rs. 1.30 lakh and Rs. 1 lakh respectively.

Quarter-finalists will receive Rs. 20,000 each while best tactics will be honored with Rs. 15,000.
All participants will be acknowledged with Rs. 2500 each. The first and second prize is sponsored by ASA while third prize by Dziivinuo Theiinuo, Director, Information & Public Relations, Nagaland.

The fourth prize is sponsored by Er. Neingumeii Kire, Chief Engineer (Mechanical), PWD,
Prizes for quarter finalists and best tactics is sponsored by Megolhou Dolie, Additional Director, Youth Resources & Sports Nagaland and Kezhalelie Keretsii, former ASA and NWA champion respectively.

15 wrestlers each from four ASA units; Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA), Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA), Western Angami Youth Organization (WAYO, and Chakhroma Youth Organization (CYO) will vie for the coveted champion title.
Entry ticket has been categorised as Donor-Rs. 2000, Balcony-Rs. 500, Chair A-Rs. 500, Chair B- Rs 200 and Chair C- Rs. 100.
Angami Catholic Union will assist the meet as ground management.

The inaugural function will be chaired by ASA general secretary Er. Seyielhouvi Nagi while ASA wrestling secretary Visakrol Vitsu will administered oath to the wrestlers. ASA president Er. Lhoubeizo Kesiyie will deliver presidential address.

The jury board will consist Visakrol Vitsu ad convenor and Visakhotuo Kriise and Mhieneikecha Chiisi as members.
Nagaland Wrestling Referee Board will assist as referees and judges of the meet.

18 top wrestlers will be selected from this ASA Wrestling meet to represent ASA at the upcoming Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) meet slated for March 26 at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima.

Meanwhile, ASA has extended invitation to all wrestlers lovers to witness the meet.
