MCCI appeals to Project Sewak on road maintenance

Mokokchung, October 15 (MExN): Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI) while congratulating ‘Project Sewak’ for its 50 glorious years of yeoman service to the people of Nagaland and Manipur suggested taking up the maintenance of road from Mariani to Tuensang more seriously.
This road links Tuensang, Zunheboto and Mokokchung in Nagaland with Mariani and Jorhat in Assam and this is the only shortest road that transporters from both the states take for supplying all types of goods to these three districts. This road may be called the lifeline of these three districts.
MCCI Vice President, Moasangba Jamir and Pub & Info Secretary MR Rai in a press note stated that the condition of the road is so bad their own officers from Project Sewak while travelling on this road keep cursing themselves. Even the transporters from both the states have expressed their utter displeasure and helplessness threatening to stop plying their goods carrying vehicles if the road remains in the same condition. They have done it in several occasions. “Therefore it will certainly be a meaningful celebration of golden jubilee for Project Sewak if they really prioritize the maintenance of this road for which they have come and spent many years,” MCCI stated. “It is the right time to start thinking of those people who are suffering so much because of the deplorable condition of the road when the actual maintaining authority are so jubilant in celebration,” the note further stated.
