Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce & Industries (MCCI) heartily applauds the VK Area authorities and concerned public leaders for the prompt and valiant initiative in tackling unlawful activities by controlling anti-social elements within their jurisdiction. We take courage to work with renewed zeal for the welfare of the general public seeing their support and cooperation. It is our expectation that the people of the area will continue to keep up their good work during our trying times such as this and always.
We would also like to bring to the notice of the competent authorities that unidentified miscreants waylaid a Mokokchung bound truck (AS-01-CC-4741) some two kilometres before reaching Wokha town on June 5, 2013. The truck was transporting dairy milk powder from Dimapur. The miscreants extorted a sum of Rs.8000/- (Rupees Eight Thousand) from the occupants of the truck. Since the occupants of the truck were not carrying any cash with them, they were coerced to borrow the said amount from friends in Wokha town. The truck was allowed to leave only after the sum was paid.
We sincerely request the authorities to take stock of the situation and ensure that no such unlawful activities happen in the future.
